As we reported, President-elect Donald Trump, Vice President-elect JD Vance and a bunch of their incoming team were all at the Army-Navy game on Saturday. While there, they were met with an enthusiastic reception and cheers.
Among the people in attendance were Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, Vivek Ramaswamy, Elon Musk, Tulsi Gabbard, Mike Waltz, and Pete Hegseth.
In addition to the members of Trump's incoming administration, Daniel Penny was in attendance at Vance's invitation. Penny had just been acquitted in the death of Jordan Neely because Penny was trying to defend the people on the subway in New York City.

That's a nice picture. Penny's lead attorney Thomas Kenniff said he was "very humbled and grateful to be invited.”

So you had to know that the liberal media weren't going to leave that alone, that you were going to get a hot take from some outlet.
It was the Huffington Post that went all in on the hot take. They not only got ratioed, but they even earned a Community Note. The tweet got over 2.8 million views with virtually every comment ripping the media outlet's spin.

"The man accused of killing Jordan Neely, a homeless Black man, will sit beside the future president and vice president at the Army-Navy game," their tweet said.
Many weighed in noting Penny had been acquitted in the case on Monday and that Neely wasn't just a "homeless Black man."

The Community Note eviscerated the HuffPo, calling the tweet "purposely misleading" and noting Penny was "acquitted by a jury of his peers." The note also explained Penny had immobilized someone who had threatened others including a mother and child.
Is it any wonder that Americans no longer trust the media when they read things like this? We saw CBS' Lesley Stahl bemoaning how people no longer trusted the media and the media was "hobbling." She ridiculously blamed Trump, not the media's own behavior. Maybe they should check themselves when they post things like this, Lesley? When you can't put such basic information out there -- or you wouldn't -- maybe there's a problem.
Just a thought.

I took a look and most of the media outlets did seem to include "acquitted" in their titles. So they can get it right if they want.
They have a choice, they can either keep digging that hole deeper. But if they do, they're going to get called out.
