Here's Evidence of How Biden Hurt Kamala With His 'Trump Supporters Are Garbage' Comment

Democrats and their willing minions in the media seized on the joke by a comic during President Donald Trump's Madison Square Garden rally. "Racist!" they screamed, trying to bootstrap to support their comparison to a Nazi rally at MSG in 1939 that wasn't even at the same location. It was a thin reed at best, but they're desperate to try to shift some momentum toward Kamala Harris since all the energy seems to be moving toward Trump.

Kamala Harris then did a big wrap up speech in D.C., and already she's created new problems for herself. It was -- again -- mostly about Trump, not about what she would bring to help anything. On top of that, the location said a lot. Instead of standing among regular Americans in a swing state, she was standing in the most liberal area in the country, in the middle of the Swamp, surrounded in all likelihood by a lot of government workers. Trump went to reach out to folks in a very blue area, she went to her base, which doesn't bring you new voters.

But then in came Joe Biden to call Trump supporters "garbage" -- right in the middle of her speech. Then that was what dominated the news, not anything Harris had to say from her final pitch. If Biden wanted to do her in, he couldn't plan it better. There were two big data points to show how badly this went over.

First there was the evidence of how independents reacted to it when they heard Biden's comment. Fox News had a focus group of Democrats, Republicans, and independents do a "dial test" of the reactions to what Biden said. The blue lines represent Democrats, yellow line independents, and red Republicans. You can see the yellow line basically is closer to the Republicans throughout but then it takes a dive when Biden says that.

The White House immediately recognized it was a problem and put out multiple transcripts trying to claim he was talking about the comic and not Trump supporters generally, but no one was buying it.

Then, as Matt Margolis at our sister site PJ Media observed, the Google trends showed the problem for Harris as well.

Google Trends numbers show search interest relative to the peak for a specific region and time. A score of 100 indicates peak popularity, 50 means half as popular, and 0 means there wasn’t enough data for the term. Here's the Google Trends graph comparing searches for "Puerto Rico garbage" and "Biden Trump supporters garbage."

So not only did it show that the comedian's comment was not holding much interest as the Democrats and the media might like, but it had been completely overtaken by the focus on the Biden comment.

It was also trending with over a million on X, so a ton of people were talking about it.

It was most definitely beating "KamalaDefendsDemocracy" which had a relatively sad number.

Then the next day, Trump capped it off with the brilliant garbage truck troll, and that also trended all over social media, adding yet another day to pointing out how Democrats have demonized millions of Americans. CNN even cut away from talking about Kamala Harris to cover what Trump was saying from the truck.

Harris just can't keep up, and that's the real closing statement.
