Kamala Harris is in a bit of a box.
She's trying to run for office, acting as though she hasn't been occupying office for the past three-plus years. She acts as though she isn't responsible for the things done in her own administration that she signed aboard. Heck, she was even the deciding vote for the legislation that many believed sparked Bidenflation in 2021, the American Rescue Plan.
So now Axios is reporting that she is going to try to reboot herself and run away from that record to help herself in the election. But that's going to be hard to do, particularly when President Joe Biden is saying she's not going to do that, as he did during questioning on Thursday.
Peter Doocy and other reporters managed to get in a few questions as Biden was leaving for Maryland to talk about the economy with Harris. Doocy asked how much "does it bother you" if Harris starts to "distance herself" from him on the economy.

Biden looked peeved and retorted, "She's not going to." Oh, just wait. They pushed you out, and you still don't think they would flee you and her own record if it aided their cause? She's already throwing her own leftwing policies that she held under the bus because she knows they won't fly with the American people, particularly in places like Pennsylvania.
A reporter then asked about former President Donald Trump saying he wanted to make America affordable again. That resonates with the American people who want someone to deal with the economic mess that Biden and Harris have wrought. So that's basically a softball for Biden to say anything he could offer to improve the economy. The problem is that in all his time in office, he hasn't really had an answer to making the economy better, only how to make it worse. Again, his answer here was just juvenile.

BIDEN: "He ought to get a job."

"He ought to get a job," Biden replied.
Trump will. The one you occupy right now, Joe. What Biden said doesn't even make any sense. Biden hasn't had a regular job since became a Senator at 30 years old. He has no idea how the normal American lives. Biden and Harris have had almost four years to make things affordable, but instead, they have made everything more expensive. But all Biden can do is snark at Trump, who is offering answers. So much for the suffering of the American people.
Reporters ask him about Harris holding a press conference; he says to "ask her." One of them asked if he had "any regrets."
Biden tells reporters he doesn't know the answers to their questions, yells at them, greets Martin Sheen, then shuffles aimlessly to Marine One.

"Talking to you guys!" Biden snapped in that smirky, nasty way he has.
He was asked if he was going to name a new ambassador to the Holy See (The Vatican). First, he joked, asking if the reporter was interested, and then appeared to say something about his mom β it sounded like checking with her. But she's been dead for 14 years. So unless he meant by prayer, I don't know what he was talking about there.
Then he saluted actor Martin Sheen. Biden has been doing that a lot lately β saluting people who are not in the military β for no explainable reason. CBS also noted that Biden said "fingers crossed" there will be a hostage deal. He's been saying the same thing with no results for months, but they don't note that.
