Joe Biden was given a border under control.
But after he came in, he immediately enacted executive orders undoing everything former President Donald Trump had done to keep order.
Now, as the election looms and Biden's prospects are bleak, particularly when it comes to the border, he's trying to make a move by EO despite saying for some time that he needed Congress to act.
House Speaker Mike Johnson said from what they know, it's a mess.
“From what we’re hearing, it will ignore multiple elements that have to be addressed, the elements that were in our legislation that we passed over 14 months ago to fix the broken asylum program, to fix the broken parole process, to reinstate the remain in Mexico policy, to end the catch and release policy that they’ve advanced,” Johnson said, in reference to the GOP-led border crackdown legislation passed more than a year ago.
The legislation, titled H.R. 2, was dead on arrival in the Democratic-controlled Senate.
“Whatever little short measure that he’s [Biden’s] going to do here, is not going to solve the problem. In fact, by some estimates, it might make it worse, because it will extend once again, the welcome message…incentivize people to come. ‘Be among the first 2,500 people,’ is what we’re hearing…’the first 2,500 per day to come in,’ to be insured you get your welcome package when you come into the country illegal. It’s absolute madness.”
Even vulnerable Democrats facing tough races decided to snub Biden's invitation to the announcement he was supposed to make on Tuesday. No one wants to be associated with the Biden failure on the issue.

He's trying to flip the script now pretending like he's doing something to try to move the needle in the election because he has such poor numbers with Americans on the issue. But he's had more than three years, and all he's done is make it worse through his own actions.
Some of the Republican senators assembled on Tuesday and spoke out against Biden's failed actions, including Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA). Ernst ripped into Biden's inaction, saying he could have secured the border long ago rather than destroying the security in place.

But then she had a hilarious moment when she was caught on a hot mic as the Republicans were leaving the podium after their presser. This perfectly summed up why no one should ever trust Joe Biden:
HOT MIC: @SenJoniErnst to @SenJohnKennedy following the Senate GOP border press conference -- "Bottom line, never trust a man whose uncle was eaten by cannibals."

"Bottom line, never trust a man whose uncle was eaten by cannibals," Ernst said. That referenced the weird, false story Joe Biden told about his Uncle Bosey, whose plane went down in Papua New Guinea during World War II. Biden didn't tell the truth about his uncle's service or how the plane went down, and there was no evidence at all that cannibals were involved in any way. That even managed to offend the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, who said, "President Biden's remarks may have been a slip of the tongue; however, my country does not deserve to be labeled as such."
It's such a perfect comment on Biden because so much of what he says is just straight-up malarkey. And it's great advice that hopefully voters remember come November because imagine how twisted a person you are when you even lie about how your uncle died to make it more dramatic.
This is the greatest hot mike ever! 😂😂
