'Sheer Panic': Raskin Announces Dems Still Going to Try to Boot Trump From the Ballot

It would be hard to imagine a more resounding smackdown to the ridiculous effort to remove former President Donald Trump from the ballot in Colorado than what the Supreme Court delivered in a 9-0 decision on Monday.

The Court ruled that it wasn't up to the states to make such a decision, that "the Constitution makes Congress, rather than the states, responsible for enforcing Section 3 against federal officeholders and candidates." So they overturned the decision by the Colorado Supreme Court. That was a huge message sent to the American people that they delivered as one voice for the entire Court.

So down goes another effort of lawfare against Trump, and we still have a Constitutional Republic. That caused some of the media to throw hissy fits, as my colleague Sister Toldjah described. They just weren't living in the reality of the Constitution and sought to invalidate SCOTUS. NBC's Ken Dilanian said, for example, "It’s going to be seen by many people as the court essentially interfering in some sense in the election."

BREAKING: Supreme Court Hands 9-0 Victory to Trump in Colorado Ballot Case

On the contrary, the effort of a state to take away the right of the people to vote for the candidate of their choice is anti-democratic. It's particularly ironic that the Democrats who approved this effort claimed to be about preserving "democracy." Talk about "interfering in some sense in the election."

But some folks don't understand a smackdown when they get it.

Since the Court said that the responsibility for enforcement against federal officeholders rests with Congress, immediately Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said that the Democrats were going to try to pass a law to boot Trump off the ballot anyway.

Raskin said he was working with Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) and Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) to "revive legislation" to set up a process by which we could determine if someone had committed insurrection and would therefore be disqualified under the 14th Amendment.

Raskin being the slimy character he is said that the House had already impeached Trump for "participating in an insurrection by inciting it" -- leaving out of course that the Senate did not convict him. Democrats always like to leave out the facts that don't support their narratives.

Not to mention, it's not the same "House" -- this House would not vote the same way. And any such bill from Raskin and his band would be very unlikely to pass both the House and the Senate.

But they never stop trying to interfere in the election, even as they falsely try to accuse Trump of insurrection. It just shows again how desperate they are. They know Joe Biden is in trouble, and that's what this is about -- doing all they can to incapacitate Trump. They're hell-bent on controlling who you're allowed to vote for.
