As we reported, Hunter Biden finally showed up for his deposition behind closed doors earlier this week. He issued a statement claiming that all this was just a "MAGA" effort against his father, spreading Joe's talking point. Then the transcript came out and revealed how juvenile folks like Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) were during the deposition.

But Hunter made some intriguing admissions during the deposition. The House Oversight Committee pointed out some of them in a great thread on X.
Here, Hunter admitted that he received money from a Chinese company, but described it as "incredibly ethical."

Was it "incredibly ethical" also to deal with a guy who Hunter himself described in his messages as the "spy chief of China"?
And how about Joe Biden saying that his son never made any money when it comes to China?
Remember when Joe Biden said during the debate that his son Hunter had never made money in China?

Looks like now Hunter, too, just proved that a lie. Joe lied to the American people right in the middle of that debate.
Hunter also admitted that he introduced Joe to his business partner Jonathan Li and that Joe wrote a recommendation for one of Li's children to college. We reported on this interaction in Oct. 2020.

This, of course, contradicts what Joe Biden said about never talking to his son about his business. This was just one of many business associates of Hunter's that Biden met with. In fact, as we reported, it appears that Joe Biden wrote recommendations for two of Li's children.
Hunter admitted that he got $250,000 as a "loan" from Li but then never had to pay it back and that his "sugar brother" Kevin Morris took on the debt. As the House Oversight thread notes, Li was the CEO of a "state-backed investment firm."

Oh, and yes, he also acknowledged that he did, in fact, get a diamond from CEFC Chair Ye Jianming.

Hunter Biden "could not remember" Joe Biden meeting with CEFC officials at the Four Seasons in Washington, D.C. But business associate Rob Walker could.

Hunter tried to spin the threatening WhatsApp message, claiming he was not in his right mind and that his father wasn't there with him as he sent the message. But the evidence on the laptop shows he was at Joe's home on that day.
When asked about sending a threatening WhatsApp message demanding payment from CEFC in July 2017, Hunter Biden said he was out of his mind, yet he knew his father was not sitting next to him. Hunter also admitted that he tried to set up a lunch with his father and CEFC associates, including Ye.

Hunter also acknowledged that Tony Bobulinski did meet with Joe Biden. How many associates is that at this point? I've lost count of how many, and yet Joe was still telling us he didn't talk with his son about his business.
Hunter additionally admitted he put his father on speakerphone to speak with his foreign business associates.

Hunter acknowledged his father met with another business associate, Kenes Rakishev, a Kazahstani oligarch, at the Cafe Milano. And Rakishev sent money around the same time for Hunter's expensive sports car, but Hunter tried to dance all around the questioning on that.

According to the Oversight Committee, Hunter also confirmed his father, who was then-vice president, dined with Russian oligarch Yelena Baturina, Kazakhstani oligarch Kenes Rakishev, and Burisma’s corporate secretary, Vadym Pozharsky, at Café Milano in D.C.

Baturina was the one who gave $3.5 million to Hunter's firm.
Hunter was also questioned about who the "big guy" was in the "10 percent held by H for the big guy?" message.
Hunter claims that was James Gilliar's message and that his father wasn't involved. But as House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) noted, he responded to to the email without questioning the assertion by Gillar.
4. Hunter Biden said he never fully read an email from James Gilliar stating that Hunter would hold 10% for the “big guy” in their joint venture with CEFC.

As the House Oversight Committee noted, there were contradictions with prior witnesses that they may try to backtrack on in public session. That could also spell trouble for Hunter and Joe Biden.
