As we reported earlier, a scary situation occurred in Dagestan, Russia, at an airport in Makhachkala. Hundreds of people carrying Palestinian flags and chanting "Allahu Akbar" stormed the airport and the landing field, trying to find a plane that they believed had Jewish people on it that had arrived from Israel. Telegram channels announced the plane and urged Muslims to come and root out the Jewish passengers. 

This is the size of the lynch mob trying to attack Jewish passengers at the airport in Dagestan, Russia.

The mob was searching the airport and checking passports, trying to find Jews/Israelis. They surrounded a plane on the tarmac, and one person jumped on an airplane wing. The mob also stopped cars outside the airport and checked people's passports, looking for Jewish people. They even tried to flip a police car.

Authorities diverted the plane from Tel Aviv, as well as other flights into the airport, and security secured some Jewish travelers who were at the facility. But they still have the problem of clearing hundreds of men from the airport. 

There was a dangerous point where the extremists were throwing stones at the police and guns were being fired.

Dagestan's Ministry of Health is reporting that more than 20 people were injured in the melee. Two people are in critical condition. The injured included both police officers and civilians. 

The authorities managed to clear the airport, but it will be shut down until November 6 because the situation is still volatile. 

Israel issued a statement on the dangerous situation. 

"The State of Israel views gravely attempts to harm Israelis citizens and Jews anywhere," the statement read. "Israel expects the Russian law enforcement authorities to safeguard all Israeli citizens and Jews, whoever they may be, and to take robust action against the rioters and against the unbridled incitement being directed at Jews and Israelis."

The government of Dagestan said a criminal case had been opened for civil disorder.

While voicing support for Gaza, it appealed to citizens to remain calm and not take part in such protests. There have been widespread protests internationally against Israel's bombing of Gaza.

"We recommend that all persons who have violated the operating procedures of the [airport] facility do not continue illegal acts and not interfere with the work of airport employees," the Dagestan government said on Telegram.

But this is Islamic extremism and anti-semitism that we're seeing rising all around the world, including in the U.S. What's ironic, perhaps, is that Russia has helped contribute to the instability in the Middle East with its relationship with Iran, so the fire they may have helped to light is coming back to bite them too here. It was Israel that was attacked and Israel that was the victim, but this flips reality on its head where these people and others like them are making the terrorists and their supporters the "victims."
