You have to love it when liberal media gets hoisted with their own petard.
The Daily Beast had to issue a pretty huge correction to a story they ran regarding an interview John Solomon and Amanda Head did for Real America's Voice of former President Donald Trump. The Beast claimed that there were questions raised about the Trump interview, that it was glitchy and made people wonder if it was AI.
Then, the publication said that they had interviewed Robert Sigg, the owner of Real America's Voice, and that there was an investigation underway into the reporting by Solomon and Head.
Here's what the headline blared about the "major oversight."

Then they quoted Sigg, according to a web archive of the article.
Robert J. Sigg, the owner of the network, told The Daily Beast on Thursday night that the “Trump” on the call sounded “like ChatGOP” to him and that “an internal investigation will be needed” into whether his hosts were duped.
“This is not the company values that the American people tune in for,” Sigg added. “This is a major oversight by John and Amanda both. Our news directors will need to go through additional training about journalism practice and how to present the facts and truth to the American people.”
The problem with The Daily Beast story? Trump posted about the RAV interview on Truth Social and his spokespeople confirmed that the interview was real. So the Beast's claim was just nonsense to begin with. it looked like an effort to attack what they characterized as "MAGA" reporting.
But what truly makes the story funny is that it wasn't the Trump interview that was false, it was the Sigg interview that The Daily Beast did. The Daily Beast had to issue a correction, saying Real America's Voice had contacted them and said it wasn't Sigg that they had spoken with.
“This story has been updated to remove quotes attributed to the owner of Real America’s Voice, Robert Sigg, saying he is investigating whether the call was a prank and criticizing network staffers,” the editor’s note states. “A Daily Beast reporter had a conversation by text with a person who identified themselves as Sigg, on a number public records show was once associated with Sigg—but a spokesperson for Real America’s Voice said that it was not Sigg and is not his current number.”
Real America's Voice blasted the bad reporting from The Daily Beast.
“These are all scurrilous lies in a fake quote that The Daily Beast never received from our network,” a spokesperson for Real America’s Voice told the DCNF. “Ironically, in a story they wrote about RAV being duped, it was The Daily Beast in fact that may have been ‘punked’ into believing they had a qualified quote from us. We have subsequently demanded an immediate retraction from The Daily Beast, requested that they preserve all records related to their ‘reporting’ on this story, and informed them that our legal counsel will be in contact about our next steps in this matter. All options are on the table.”
John Solomon ripped the false story as well.

Solomon has dropped some important reporting on the Biden business scandal over the years, including most recently obtaining memos through the Freedom of Information Act that showed Joe Biden's actions in threatening to withhold aid to get the Ukrainian prosecutor fired contradicted the U.S. position at the time. The White House Counsel's Office spokesperson attacked Solomon over it, but Solomon leveled him saying he had the "receipts" -- the memos.
It looks like the Beast hoped to do in RAV and John Solomon, but instead managed to put some further nails in their credibility.
