CNN Busts Adam Schiff in a Lie, but Then Messes It Up

I wrote earlier about how things were not going well for CNN in their effort to transform back into an actual news network. CEO Chris Licht has made some good moves, but unfortunately, there are still a lot of problems, and their ratings are the worst that they’ve been in nine years. As I said, I think while they may be losing some of their liberal indoctrinated viewers, they’re not gaining back anyone else. Most people don’t believe they’re going to change.

CNN had on Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN). Dana Bash did ask some good questions of Schiff, as well as Swalwell and Omar.

Bash pushed Swalwell on Fang Fang and Omar on her anti-Semitism.

Bash asked Schiff about his Russia collusion evidence which he never produced. He tried to triple down on it and failed. Bash even busted Schiff for lying about the whistleblower in the Trump impeachment matter. This may be the most that we’ve ever seen him called out on this lie in liberal media and one of the few times he’s ever been pressed on the network.

Citing House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s reasons for kicking Schiff off the Intelligence Committee, Bash noted that McCarthy had said that Schiff’s lies were part of a pattern, including his lie about the whistleblower. “Ahead of the first Trump impeachment, you said the committee had not spoken to a whistleblower. In fact, that turned out not to be true,” Bash said.

Adam Schiff stammered and tried to cover, “I should have been more clear in my answer.” Yeah, no, you lied and now you got caught.

But just as he got caught lying, look what CNN ran across the screen to confuse people. They made Schiff a Republican in the chyron.

So even at the moment they do something right — busting the slimy worm — they have to go and mess it up by calling him a Republican. It’s like someone behind the scenes couldn’t allow them to call Democrats out on lying and they had to suddenly make him a Republican to deflect and put Schiff at arm’s length from the Democratic Party. The mistake — once again — always seems to go in one direction — hurting Republicans.

It just goes to show what I said earlier to Chris Licht — there’s still a lot of chaff you have to clear away if you hope to be taken seriously when you have basic “mistakes” like this.
