Many were very concerned about Hamlin’s condition after seeing him drop like that and knowing what he had suffered right before their eyes. As we reported, his family thanked everyone for all their prayers.

“On behalf of our family, we want to express our sincere gratitude for the love and support shown to Damar during this challenging time. We are deeply moved by the prayers, kind words, and donations from fans around the country,” the statement read.

Now, there’s some good news regarding his health.

According to Buffalo Bills cornerback Kaiir Elam, Hamlin was “awake and showing more signs of improvement.”

“Our boy is doing better, awake and showing more signs of improvement,” Elam tweeted. “Thank you God. Keep the prayers coming please. All love 3!”

CNN reporter Omar Jiminez reported that Hamlin was awake and was holding hands with his family at the hospital, according to his agent.

The Buffalo Bills also released an update on Thursday, saying that Hamlin has shown “remarkable improvement” and while he was still critically ill, he was “neurologically intact,” an incredibly important sign.

They said his lungs continued to heal and that he was making “steady progress.”

People have been so touched and concerned about Hamlin, many have donated to Hamlin’s toy drive charity as a way of telling him they care. The GoFundMe now has over $7 million.

One has to think that the prayers of people across the country helped and hopefully, he will continue to improve.
