Robert Crimo III just confessed to shooting up the Highland Park, Illinois, July 4th parade. Seven people were killed and at least 38 were injured. Police said he had been planning it for a long time, and that he had allegedly previously threatened to kill his family. The Illinois State Police had received a “Clear and Present Danger report” about Crimo from the Highland Police, but since the family didn’t press charges against him, the Illinois State Police said they still let him get guns, despite the alleged threats.
But Highland Park wasn’t the only city that faced a July 4th celebration that was under threat.
Richmond, Virginia, police announced Wednesday that two illegal aliens had been arrested after plotting a mass shooting during that city’s July 4th fireworks event.
Richmond Chief of Police said that 52-year-old Julio Alvarado-Dubon and 38-year-old Rolman Balacarcel were arrested after a “hero citizen…overheard a conversation” about the plan. After authorities were tipped off, the police investigated and found Alvarado-Dubon had two rifles, a handgun, and more than 200 rounds of ammunition. They were both arrested on gun charges, for possession of a firearm.

“There’s no telling how many lives this citizen hero saves from one phone call,” Smith said. “One phone call saved numerous lives on the Fourth of July.”
Both suspects are currently being held at Richmond City Jail with no bond, while no motive for the plotted attack has been released.
“We know what their intent was but we don’t have a motive,” Smith said.
Smith addressed reports that one of the suspects has been deported several times and continued to re-enter the country illegally, saying that it was “frustrating” that a person could continue to break the law and have an opportunity to still plan out a mass murder.
Smith said the tip likely saved many lives. The amphitheater for the event can hold up to 2,400 people, so that would have been a lot of people.

They don’t know what the motive was yet.
But once again, we see the situation of a very serious crime allegedly by illegal aliens, including a repeat offender. Yet Joe Biden still pays no real attention to the crisis at the border. The people that were at risk in Richmond may have dodged a very real bullet. Unfortunately, Biden’s policies are still putting people in danger.
