The Cuomo nursing home scandal has finally imploded and the FBI and U.S. Attorney’s office are now reportedly looking into it.

As we previously reported, there are multiple aspects to it, including the question of changing the way that nursing home deaths were reflected in May of last year to make the number of nursing home deaths from the Wuhan coronavirus appear to be a smaller number after Gov. Andrew Cuomo started getting backlash for his March 25 order that nursing homes had to accept positive virus patients. I was one of the first to report this back in May of last year. Unfortunately, the media at the time was too invested in attacking President Donald Trump and setting up Cuomo as the anti-Trump Democratic hero when he was anything but.

But another aspect of this was that while the pandemic was going on, not only was there funny business with the numbers, but Cuomo was scorning some of New York’s public health experts on the matter when it came to dispensing the vaccine, as we previously reported at the beginning of this month.

According to the NY Times, Cuomo scorned public health officials: “When I say ‘experts’ in air quotes, it sounds like I’m saying I don’t really trust the experts. Because I don’t.”

Remember how they accused Trump of doing that despite the fact Dr. Fauci said he always listened to what he said. But it was really the media darling Cuomo who was actually treating experts badly and allegedly disregarding them.

But when the Cuomo team was asked by Democratic legislators about who Cuomo was relying on/getting advice from, the Secretary to the Governor, Melissa De Rosa, said, “The Governor speaks on a regular basis with Dr. Fauci, and Dr. Michael Osterholm. I would say those are two of the people that are chief advisors.”

Except, when Firing Line’s Margaret Hoover spoke to Osterholm about what he thought of the imploding scandal — since he was an “advisor” to Cuomo since May and characterized by one of his aides as one of his “top advisors.” Osterholm said that wasn’t true at all.

In a call with lawmakers, a top Cuomo aide called Dr. Michael Osterholm a “chief advisor” who spoke to the governor on a "regular basis."

“That’s absolutely not true,” Osterholm said, saying he had only one five minute conversation with him, that he simply provided data on a weekly basis as to whether things met the “red, green and yellow zone standards” but never even met with the COVID task force they had or had any other conversations with Cuomo. Osterholm was obviously making it clear that calling him a “top advisor” on the subject was false.

Wow. Sure looks like they just got caught in another lie, this time to Democratic legislators. Will Democrats hold their feet to the fire for being lied to on this?
