Looks like #ObamaGate is heating up with the release of documents related to Gen. Michael Flynn as well as the other transcripts released by the House Intel Committee.

In those transcripts, Obama officials testified that they had no evidence of any collusion between the Trump team and the Russians. This despite the same Obama officials saying something quite differently in public and stoking the Russia collusion delusion for the past three years.

Now, Republicans in the Senate want to hear from those Obama officials under oath as part of its own investigation into the Russia probe and they may subpoena some of the big names in the case.

Fox News reported that the Senate Judiciary Committee, whose investigation is separate from the one being conducted by U.S. Attorney for Connecticut John Durham for the Department of Justice, may issue subpoenas for the Obama officials to get to the bottom of how the narrative started that President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign colluded with Russia to steal the election. A source told the outlet that the committee wants “former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and former CIA Director John Brennan to testify before the committee.”

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who chairs the committee, said last week that he wants former FBI Director James Comey and former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe to testify this summer.

Fox’s source told the outlet that it would subpoena the officials if they refused to appear and that Senate investigators were looking at “various piece” from “various sources” for their investigation.

“This is a multilevel puzzle,” the source told Fox. “They are looking at layer upon layer, and you have to be able to tell the story of exactly what was going on, and who was doing what, when, and why.”

Add that to the Durham piece and things may start to get very hot for Obama officials. They’ve already shown their very panicky over what has come out so far, as Barack Obama’s “leaked” phone call, John Brennan’s rabid rant and the House Democrats’ letter attempting to derail Attorney General Bill Barr reveal.

Put these guys under oath and ask them the right questions and let’s see if they start jumping shit and talking with enough pressure.

One of the key pieces to focus on: the Jan. 5 meeting, with the question “what did Barack Obama and Joe Biden know and when did they know it?” Because the fundamental switch in how they deal with Flynn, going from dismissing the matter to trying to shoehorn a normal call with the Russian ambassador into some kind of Russian conflict came after the meeting with Obama and Biden. It was also during that meeting where they discussed possibly withholding information about Russia from the incoming team. Why? One obvious answer would be so that the Trump team wouldn’t know about the efforts to undermine them.

Sen. Chuck Grassley has made it clear that he’s going to go there, asking that question about Obama and Biden.

Can we anticipate that they would be put under oath? That would make the summer.

Can Republicans finally put their big boy pants on and hold these folks to account?
