Remember former Obama Secretary of State John Kerry who was so upset that President Donald Trump was going to pull out of the Iran Deal that he held secret meetings with the Iranians, apparently giving them counsel on how to proceed?

He weighed in yesterday after the Iranian missile attacks.

Typically, he attacked Trump even before all the facts were in on the attacks.

Shortly after reports of Iranian airstrikes on US bases in Iraq, @JohnKerry again stressed diplomacy.

So they’ve just attacked us, but of course, it’s Trump’s fault for daring to respond to multiple prior attacks on our forces including the killing of an American contractor, wounding of four other Americans and the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. So we know that the Obama administration response would have been to do nothing.

He then suggests that Trump might not have had justification because intelligence could have been faked.

Whether there was any future attack, the attacks that had already occurred would have justified it.

But it was also pretty clear there were other attacks being planned and the Green Zone had apparently been compromised by Soleimani’s forces, putting all the embassies in there and all the Americans there at risk, all of that would have been in continued mortal danger. Under Obama/Kerry, they would have done nothing to stop Soleimani. So God knows what would have happened. We already saw what happened in Benghazi under Obama/Clinton.

To suggest that somehow the intelligence could be faked given the lies and spin the Obama administration had about Benghazi is rich. They lied to the families of dead Americans. How about John Kerry tell us more about the conversations he had with the Iranians last year?

The Obama administration not only sent “pallets of cash” but when the Obama administration lifted sanctions on Iran as part of the Iran deal, that meant $150 billion in sanctions relief flowed back into the regime’s pockets according to reports. Kerry’s response at the time? Oh, well, nothing we can do about it. Kerry conceded that at least some of it would go to the IRGC (which would mean Soleimani) who were behind the pro-Iranian militia attacks on the United States.

Secretary of State John Kerry acknowledged to CNBC Thursday that some of the money Iran received in sanctions relief would go to groups considered terrorists.

When asked about whether some the $150 billion in sanctions relief to Iran would go to terrorist groups, Kerry reiterated that, after settling debts, Iran would receive closer to $55 billion. He conceded some of that could go to groups considered terrorists, saying there was nothing the U.S. could do to prevent that.
“I think that some of it will end up in the hands of the IRGC or other entities, some of which are labeled terrorists,” he said in the interview in Davos, referring to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps. “You know, to some degree, I’m not going to sit here and tell you that every component of that can be prevented.”

Why could Kerry know that some of that might flow back into the IRGC? Because some of the people no longer being sanctioned who were listed in the Iran Deal were IRGC leaders, including Soleimani, reportedly. Why would you ever take such people off a sanctions list?
