What is wrong with these people at Facebook, when they can’t even figure out what to do when an adult tries to groom a child for sex?

Sexual predators typically don’t just grab and rape a kid. No, they use long-term psychological manipulation, gradually working their way into getting the kid to “consent,” or at least putting the kid in a position where everything will be kept quiet.

Facebook doesn’t seem to understand this. They ran a poll of users asking how to handle the instance of a predator asking a kid for nude photos:

“In thinking about an ideal world where you could set Facebook’s policies, how would you handle the following: a private message in which an adult man asks a 14-year-old girl for sexual pictures,” Facebook asked.

….The possible responses Facebook offered to the question ranged from “this content should not be allowed on Facebook, and no one should be able to see it” to “this content should be allowed on Facebook, and I would not mind seeing it.”

Got that? Either they’re going to hide it and cover it up, or they’re going to allow it and let it be visible as normal. At no point in time does it occur to them that a 14 year old girl being attacked by a predator should result in the girl’s parents, or the police, being notified.

This is not a company that has sane values.
