What do Donald Trump and Edward Snowden have in common? Trump praises Vladimir Putin and wants to be friends with him. Snowden actually fled to Russia to work with Putin, giving him America’s secrets to work against us.
They both love Putin’s regime more than the American system of government.
You know who’s absolutely nailed Edward Snowden, in an unimpeachable way? Ted Cruz. The Senator has given the critics of NSA programs the benefit of every doubt, but speaks the absolute truth about the traitor Snowden who fled to his Russian paymasters:
Cruz: The evidence is clear that not only did Snowden violate the law but it appears he committed Treason. And Treason is defined under the Constitution as giving aid and comfort to the enemies of America, and what Snowden did made it easier for terrorists to avoid detection.
And Snowden’s comments afterwards and his behavior afterwards. He fled to Russia. He fled to China. His conducts afterwards indicates that he was not a whistleblower, but instead he was undermining the ability to defend this country.
Contrast with what Donald Trump said about Putin, whom Snowden ran to live under:
MSNBC: Do you like Vladimir Putin’s comments about you?
Trump: Sure. When people call you brilliant that’s always good, especially when the person heads up Russia.
MSNBC: Also it’s a person who kills journalists, political allies, I mean political opponents, and invades countries. I mean obviously it would be a concern, would it not?
Trump: He’s running his country and at least he’s a leader, you know, unlike what we have in this country.
MSNBC: Again, he kills journalists that don’t agree with him.
Trump: Well I think our country does plenty of killing also Joe. There’s a lot of stupidity going on in the world right now Joe. A lot of killing going on. A lot of stupidity and that’s the way it is.
First off, notice how much he repeats himself? He repeats the same things he said, over and over. It’s like he’s filling time until one of his handlers gives him a cue card or something.
But notice that Snowden and Trump have in common is they both defend Russia to attack the United States. Treason, not patriotism.
