In this episode of "Lying Liars Telling Lying Lies"...
Since the beginning of my interest in national politics (more than a few years ago), the favorite tactic (baldfaced lie) of the Democrat Party has been scaring America's seniors into believing that the evil Republican Party is going to "take away" (or "cut") their Social Security benefits.
As the Baby Boomer generation began to age, the Democrats tacked on Medicare to their fearmongering scam, fully aware that other than outliving their income, seniors most fear the ever-rising cost of medical care.
So why do the Democrats continue to parrot something so deceptive, if not downright evil?
Because, just as we're now seeing, the Democrat Party is a deceptive hollow vessel that offers zero solutions — particularly when President Donald Trump and the Republican Party continue to offer plenty — and so, just as they have done for decades, Democrats continue to delusionally believe that attacking Trump, and conservatism in general, is their only way to win.
Should we tell them, or should we welcome their lies and expose them at every opportunity? (Pick "b.")
This brings us to Michigan Democrat Sen. Elissa Slotkin and her latest lying lies.
As my colleague Susie Moore reported earlier on Tuesday, Slotkin — who played the "reasonable" Democrat in her response to President Trump's address to Congress last Tuesday — responded on X (formerly Twitter) to Elon Musk's interview with Fox Business host Larry Kudlow about the focus of DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency), including Social Security and Medicare.

We'll get to Musk's comments, but after apparently watching them (or not), Slotkin came to this conclusion (emphasis, mine):
Musk said the quiet part out loud: he’s going after your Social Security and Medicare. Period. Mark my words. They will make you pay in every part of your life.
Setting aside my loathing for the trite, "said the quiet part out loud" silliness, NO. Musk. Is. Not. Going. After. Your. Social Security and Medicare. Period.

The segment that Slotkin tried to exploit (lie about) began with Kudlow asking Musk:
You’re not really, let me see if I get this right, particularly with social security, you’re not really changing policy. You’re auditing the fiscal mechanisms to make sure that, you know, from point A gets to point B and that’s where it’s supposed to get to. In some cases, it doesn’t get there. Or in some cases, it may go over there. But that’s, it’s not a policy exercise. You’re not changing laws. You’re just doing what any business would do in a profit and loss audit.
Musk replied:
I think really what we’re adding here is caring and competence. And there’s a massive amount of fraud of basically people submitting social security numbers for social security benefits, unemployment, small business administration loans, and medical, where those are fake social security numbers.
Or they’ve stolen somebody else’s social security number. And we’re trying to put a stop to all of that. And that’s the number which is estimated to be on the order of 10 percent of federal expenditures, which is, you know, half a trillion dollars.
[...]
So I mean, the waste report in entitlement spending, which is most of the federal spending is entitlements. So that’s like the big one to eliminate. That’s the sort of half trillion, maybe 600, 700 billion a year.
Raise your hand if you think Musk "said the quiet part out loud." Exactly — zero hands.
Now raise your hand if you think Slotkin was intentionally lying. Exactly, again — every hand raised.
Speaking of Social Security
I assume some readers, if not most, have seen the following on social media, or something similar (always in bold font with a whole bunch of uppercase words):
REPEAT AFTER ME:
Social Security is OUR money, that we earned by working and paying into the fund
EACH paycheck, and NOT an "Entitlement!"
Not to nitpick, but the above is categorically incorrect.
Social Security "payments" are part of the payroll tax (which consists of Social Security taxes, Medicare taxes, state unemployment taxes and federal unemployment taxes) and is not "our money."
Moreover, Social Security is a transfer system by which which working people fund qualifying retirement and or Medicare benefits. And finally, by the very definition of the word — Social Security is indeed an entitlement program, which simply means that people who qualify for benefits are entitled to receive them.
Don't misunderstand me.
I'm neither defending the broken SS system nor championing the amount of payroll taxes we pay. What I am doing is stating facts — an all-too-common omission of social media.
Now, if we could get the Democrat Party onboard the facts train — wait — never mind.
