Great news, history buffs — and particularly Abraham Lincoln fans.
While the far-left has long targeted America's 16th president for cancelation, it now appears that at least some on the left are content with commuting Honest Abe's sentence to homosexuality. Yep, a documentary producer and the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) on Thursday announced a partnership with a new feature documentary film, “Lover of Men: The Untold History of Abraham Lincoln.”

Special Occasion Studios and the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) announced Thursday a partnership with the new feature documentary film, “Lover of Men: The Untold History of Abraham Lincoln.”
Opening Sept. 6 and directed by Shaun Peterson, “Lover of Men” examines Lincoln’s intimate and romantic relationships with men throughout his life.

The documentary features Lincoln scholars and never-before seen photographs and letters. “’Lover Of Men’ widens its lens into the history of human sexual fluidity and focuses on the profound differences between sexual mores of the nineteenth century and those we hold today,’” the film’s official synopsis reads, in part.
“The film fills in an important missing piece of American history and challenges the audience to consider why we hold such a limited view of human sexuality. ‘Lover Of Men’ is not only an exploration of gender roles and sexual identity but also serves as an examination of American intolerance.”
I've read pretty much everything legitimate that I could get my hands on about Lincoln over the decades, and I must confess that I've not seen one driblet of credible information to suggest that America's greatest president was bisexual.
Please understand: I'm neither criticizing gay men nor suggesting that I'd think less of Abraham Lincoln and his monumental stature in American history if it were proved that he did in fact have a secret life as suggested by this "documentary."

A portion of ticket sales from “Lover of Men” will benefit HRC when moviegoers use the organization’s custom ticket purchase link. HRC's vice president of membership brimmed with excitement about the partnership:
The Human Rights Campaign is proud to be the exclusive beneficiary of ‘Lover of Men.' It is an important conversation, at an important time in our nation — as we barrel toward a consequential election in which our freedoms — including our freedom to love who we love and be who we are and live openly with pride — are on the line.
So Abraham Lincoln died 160 years ago. He reportedly had romantic ties with various women early on and fathered four children with his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln.
That said, American psychologist, writer, and researcher for Alfred Kinsey, C.A. Tripp, in a 2005 book titled "The Intimate World of Abraham Lincoln," explored the theory that Lincoln "may have had have had homosexual tendencies, an unromantic marriage, and unusual male relationships." Tripp came to the conclusion that Lincoln was "plainly bisexual."
As I see it, the question (and answer) lies somewhere between "Who cares?" and "What does the left hope to gain by painting Abraham Lincoln as bisexual?"
With respect to the latter question, is the answer "credibility for the LGBTQ movement among some who don't presently accept the movement?"
Dunno. But I do know that my vision of Abraham Lincoln is what it is, and it will not be changed by today's leftists who seek nothing less than to destroy America as we know it.
