The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has come a long way since it once primarily worked to prevent anti-Semitism — the defamation of the Jewish people, and other marginalized groups. The question is, in which direction has the ADL come — or gone, as it were to the “dark side” of the far-Left.
Case in point: Just in time for Halloween and the kiddies trick-or-treating, the ADL has published a Halloween costumes resource guide titled:

Here’s how the guide kicks things off:
When autumn blows in, Halloween fun is close behind. And yet sometimes, it is the opposite of fun.
Parents sometimes cringe in anticipation of what their child’s costume will be. Teachers may worry about stereotyped costumes and playground taunts. College campuses gear up for the parties and resulting bias, conflict, and controversy.
Halloween should be festive and exciting. When approached thoughtfully, the holiday can bring not just candy and costumes, but creativity, learning, and community building.
But to ensure that Halloween and other holidays are positive experiences for all, they need to be inclusive and respectful.
Spoiler: The only thing “blowing in,” here is a crock of left-wing crap purposely designed to further confuse the hell out of America’s children.

The handy guide bills itself as an instruction manual for educators who will “oversee children dressing up for the late-October holiday,” as reported by Just the News on Monday. Although, come to think of it, when my kids were young, my wife and I oversaw such things, just as my parents had overseen those things for my brother and me, but I digress (to a “normal time,” long, long ago).
Then again, God forbid we “perpetuate gender norms.”

Shall we dig into the guide? In addition to an expected section (diatribe) on cultural stereotypes and so-called “appropriation” in costumes, the ADL’s “resource” guide emphasizes “children who may exist outside the gender binary,” noted Just the News, that the ADL suggests “could be exacerbated by costumes worn by children that cater to their specific sexes.”
Sure enough, one section of the guide reads as follows, emphasis mine:
Many Halloween costumes perpetuate gender stereotypes and exclude those who don’t conform to traditional gender norms, especially those who are transgender, non-binary or gender non-conforming. Be mindful that you may have students who feel excluded and marginalized by the overly gendered way Halloween costumes are marketed.
“Overly gendered”? Hang on. So a little girl dressed up as “Elsa,” for example, could exacerbate some bad vibe for a child who exists outside of the gender binary? Got it. And guess where you can stick it?

The gender thingy insanity continues:
Many children are attracted to traditional gendered costumes, think girls who love princesses or boys who are obsessed with action heroes.
When that is the case, it is best not to reinforce that these are the only appropriate options available.
Engage in conversations with young people about gender stereotypes and discuss messages that companies send through marketing and advertising.
As I was writing, I thought to myself, you know America is screwed when Russia and China are laughing their asses off over everything from our CRT-focused military leaders to a sizable portion of our population getting all pinched up over little girls and boys wearing Halloween costumes of little girl and boy characters.

Anyway, I trust that our children will get through Halloween and their costumes just fine.
That is, perhaps, except for the kids who are told by their parents or teachers that they should be offended by girls with the insensitivity to dress up as Elsa or boys who rock Pokémon Charizard costumes.
