To borrow from one of Donald Trump’s favorite 2016 presidential campaign lines — America would “get tired of winning so much” if he won the election — here we are just over two weeks into Joe Biden’s presidency and we’re already getting tired of “unifying” so much.

“Unifying” Biden-style, that is.

During an interview with CBS News anchor Norah O’Donnell — his first sit-down interview since the inauguration — Biden said he doesn’t think Trump should receive intelligence briefings — Presidential Daily Briefings (PDAs)— because of his “erratic behavior unrelated to the insurrection,” the Democrat buzz word for the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol.

As is the case with every question Biden is asked by the fawning Democrat state media, O’Donnell continually set the stage perfectly throughout the interview. Why it’s “almost” like Biden knew what was coming — and O’Donnell knew what his responses would be.

“You’ve called him an existential threat. You’ve called him dangerous. You’ve called him reckless,” O’Donnell said at one point in the interview.

“Yeah, I have. And I believe it,” Biden replied, on cue.

In another perfect set-up, O’Donnell asked Biden to share his “worst fear if [Trump] continues to get these intelligence briefings.”

“I’d rather not speculate out loud,” Biden said, as he promptly speculated out loud.

“I just think that there is no need for him to have the intelligence briefings. What value is giving him an intelligence briefing? What impact does he have at all, other than the fact he might slip and say something?”

The stage now set, O’Donnell came in hot with the direct question: “Should former President Trump still receive intelligence briefings?”

“I think not,” Biden said, to which O’Donnell responded, “Why not?”

“Because of his erratic behavior — unrelated to the insurrection,” said Biden.

During a portion of the interview in which O’Donnell questioned Biden on the impending Senate impeachment trial, which is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Feb. 9, Biden said he “ran like hell” to defeat Trump because he believed Trump was “unfit to be president.”

“I ran like hell to defeat him because I thought he was unfit to be president. I’ve watched what everybody else watched, what happened when that– that crew invaded the United States Congress. But– I’m not in the Senate now. I’ll let the Senate make that decision.”

“Ran like hell”? By hiding out in his basement throughout the campaign, delivering disjointed campaign speeches at fake rallies, and having “Dr.” Jill fly wingman for him most of the time was “running like hell’?

“Unfit to be president”? Calling God “the thing,” forgetting which state or city he was in half the time, reading instructions on teleprompters, confusing his wife with his sister, saying Corn Pop “was a bad dude,” and declaring the right of Americans to “badakathcare” are examples of “fit” to be president”?

Here’s the thing.

What we’re witnessing is a concerted effort by the Left to paint Trump in the worst light possible — which is why they ridiculously insist on calling the storming of the Capitol an “insurrection” — for historical purposes. Trump must be “canceled” — whatever it takes.

Trump must be permanently painted as “irrational,” “erratic,” “vindictive,” “megalomaniacal,” and all of the other labels they’ve slapped on him from the moment he and Melania rode down the Trump Tower escalator in June 2015, to announce his candidacy.

Before the Left is finished with Trump, they will simply refer to America’s 45th president as “He whose name must not be mentioned.” I say that in jest, of course — but just barely.
