On Sunday, the Wall Street Journal confirmed that numerous federal agencies have said that Chinese intelligence officers or Chinese nationals pressed into service, disguised as tourists, gained access to, or attempted to access, over 100 separate Department of Defense facilities, including military bases, without authorization in an apparent attempt at gaining intelligence on security measures in place at the facilities and to determine ease of access to said facilities. 

The Defense Department, FBI and other agencies held a review last year to try to limit these incidents, which involve people who officials have dubbed gate-crashers because of their attempts—either by accident or intentionally—to get onto U.S. military bases and other installations without proper authorization. They range from Chinese nationals found crossing into a U.S. missile range in New Mexico to what appeared to be scuba divers swimming in murky waters near a U.S. government rocket-launch site in Florida.

The incidents, which U.S. officials describe as a form of espionage, appear designed to test security practices at U.S. military installations and other federal sites. Officials familiar with the practice say the individuals are typically Chinese nationals pressed into service and required to report back to the Chinese government. 

This is just another report in a long line of reports of espionage attempts by the Chinese government in the United States. Over the years, China has severely ramped up its intelligence-gathering apparatus, known as the Ministry of State Security. The MSS has grown significantly in its ability to penetrate our private and government sectors and systems while maintaining operational security long after its operations cease, utilizing many types of tradecraft, like cyber hackers in addition to its human intelligence apparatus. 

We’ve had spy balloons, Chinese “police stations” and biolabs on U.S. soil, and, just recently, a pair of sailors who were caught selling some major secrets to the Chinese military. None of this really bodes well for our relationship with China, a hostile foreign power that the Biden administration has been simultaneously pretending to be tough on while also kowtowing to them. 

It’s quite possible that Biden will be the last person on earth to find out that there is already a Cold War that the Chinese have started. The actions listed above are pretty clear signs we’re headed down that path, if not on it already, and Biden is either lying or extremely naive if he thinks that a war with China – hot or cold – isn’t brewing.

Every single item listed above is a direct action against the U.S. and its sovereignty, and there has been little-to-no pushback from the Biden administration on any of it. Since the spy balloon incident, there have been administration officials taking trips to China, and each one has ended in embarrassment for us and propaganda for the Chinese Communist Party.

The Chinese government has a long history of obtaining or attempting to obtain US military secrets dating all the way back to 1999. Another bombshell report back in 2021 by Japanese investigative journalist Katsuji Nakazawa asserted that the Chinese were allegedly in possession of some of the wreckage of a U.S. Air Force F-117 that was shot down over Serbia in 1999 during the NATO air campaign. In addition, the Chinese successfully obtained significant data relating to the American F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program. With all this information gained, the Chinese military recently revealed its own "stealth" aircraft, the Shenyang-J-31, which closely resembles the American F-35 and F-22. 

If the Chinese aren't trying to spy on our military, they are certainly seeking — and getting — an unbelievable amount of data from everyday Americans who use the TikTok application. The information gathered by that app is mind-blowing, and the people who use it are giving it away either blissfully unaware or grudgingly accepting it. It tracks all kinds of data, including keystrokes, usage data, all files on your phone, your location, your user history, and more. 

President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken seem to be unaware of the Chinese threat — which cannot be close to being true as everybody and their uncle knows about it. The more probable scenario is Biden and his team are unwilling to properly deal with the Chinese intelligence threat. If you look at China, their government and the MSS are taking very big measures to protect themselves from foreign intelligence operations in their country. 

China’s powerful spy agency is usually secretive about its work but has taken a more public profile recently. Beijing has ratcheted up efforts to crack down on spying and adopted a new counter-espionage law that came into effect last month. That legislation expands the list of activities that could be considered spying, intensifying the risks for foreign firms.

An overwhelming majority of Americans believe the Chinese threat is real and the most serious threat facing our country. But Biden seems to have a blasé attitude towards them. 

While the president makes nice to that vast land’s ruthless leaders, Americans have figured out that China is the United States’ greatest enemy. A new Gallup Poll finds half the country says that, with Russia a distant second as worst enemy, followed by North Korea and Iran.

Democrats think Russia is the United States’ greatest foe, which is funny since Barack Obama made fun of Mitt Romney for saying that in their election campaign.

Seventy-six percent of Republicans and 46 percent of independents regard China as the most serious threat. Only 30 percent of Democrats do.

So what is the next move for America, Mr. President? Do we want just to let them have what they want? If it wasn't for the consummate professionals in our military, security forces, and investigators, one could reasonably think that Biden truly isn't doing anything about it. Time will ultimately tell in this case; it wasn't long before they rolled out their stealth aircraft after stealing what they needed from us. Maybe we should look and see what China rolls out next to see how badly we have failed to stop the threat.
