As reported earlier, "squad member" Rep. Jamaal Bowman lost his primary race against George Latimer in New York's 16th district. Latimer considers himself a moderate Democrat, in contrast to Bowman, who vouches for leftist policies such as the Green New Deal. This was a hotly contested race and the most expensive House primary in the history of the United States.
Bowman did everything possible to hold this seat, going as far as calling Latimer a racist and a MAGA candidate. Bowman even brought out Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in an attempt to revive his campaign, but it didn't work, and now, the GOP is having a field day with Bowman's loss.

As Democrats Choose Latimer
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), who had an encounter with Bowman in the halls of Congress, posted:
Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY) had this to say about Bowman's defeat:
Former New York Congressman and gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin chimed in on Bowman's loss:
Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA) also took a swipe at Bowman for pulling the fire alarm, thinking it would "open the door":
If Bowman had focused more on his constituents' needs, avoided antisemitic comments, and performed the job he was hired to do, maybe this could have been a different story. Over the years, we have seen some other vulnerable incumbents squeak it out. But Bowman made the bed, and now he has to sleep in it.
During his concession speech, Bowman implied that he lost because the voters were "brainwashed" due to all the ads that were run:
One squad member has lost; there are eight more members to go, and Cori Bush (D-MO) could be the most vulnerable of the bunch. That election will be held in August.
