As training camp ramps up, NFL news does too. And there was sad news coming out of the baseball world, as legendary Los Angeles Dodgers announcer Vin Scully passed away at the age of 94.

The NFL suspends Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross for six weeks. The suspension comes after the league learned about tampering by the Dolphins when they tried recruiting Tom Brady and former New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton to the team. In a statement released by the NFL, it stated in part:
“The Dolphins again had impermissible communications with both Mr. Brady and his agent during and after the 2021 season, while he was under contract to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers … Those discussions began no later than early December 2021 and focused on Mr. Brady becoming a limited partner in the Dolphins and possibly serving as a football executive, although at times they also included the possibility of his playing for the Dolphins.”
The Dolphins will also lose their first-round selection in the 2023 NFL draft and their third-round pick in the 2024 draft.
The NFL did not find evidence about coach Brian Flores’ allegation that Stephen Ross was paying him $100,000 per loss, as they wanted the team to tank for a higher draft pick.
LaDanian Tomlinson told viewers not to be surprised if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers don’t make the playoffs this upcoming season.
“Don’t be surprised if the Bucs miss the playoffs this year, and I say that because you look at all the changes. First off, Tom Brady will have three different interior linemen – center, right guard, left guard – all those guys are different from last year … let’s think about the wild card teams. San Francisco, Arizona, Philly, Minnesota, the Cowboys … I’m never going to put anything past Tom Brady; he’s the GOAT; he can galvanize this group, but let’s not be surprised if we’re looking at the end of the year, like, Tampa did not make the playoffs? Wow!”
Across sportsbooks, the Buffalo Bills have become the favorite to win Super Bowl LVII. The Kansas City Chiefs came in second, followed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Chargers, and San Fransisco 49ers.
Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell signed a new four-year, $20 million extension that includes a guaranteed $12.5 million, per ESPN’s NFL Insider Adam Schefter. That extension will tie Boswell with Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker for highest-paid kicker in NFL history.
Broncos wide receiver Tim Patrick suffered an ACL injury during practice; he is out for the 2022 season.
Offensive tackle D.J. Humphries and the Arizona Cardinals agreed on a three-year contract extension worth $66.8 million.
All draft picks from the NFL draft in April are under contract following Baltimore’s signing of second-round draft pick David Ojabo. Currently, Ojabo is listed as the second weakside linebacker for the Ravens.

As RedState’s Jennifer Van Laar reported on Tuesday, legendary Dodgers announcer, Vin Scully, passed away. He was 94. Scully reshaped broadcasting and will be remembered as the greatest play-by-play announcer of all time.
