A previously deported rapist and a separate, MS-13 gang member have been arrested by United States Border Patrol in McAllen, Texas. However, these arrests help show how illegal immigration and a weak border truly impact every state in the Union.

According to CBS 4, Border Patrol arrested a group of 53 migrants on Thursday. However, while processing the background checks, agents discovered that one of the migrants was actually an MS-13 gang member.

MS-13 is shorthand for Mara Salvatrucha, one of the world’s deadliest gangs.

As reported by Fox News,

MS-13 was set up in Los Angeles by Central American immigrants and has expanded across the Americas — particularly in Northern Triangle countries like El Salvador and Guatemala. The gang is known for its particularly horrific and gruesome crimes, and its motto is said to be “mata, viola, controla,” which means “kill, rape, control.”

On a separate stop of 17 illegal aliens, authorities discovered a previously deported rapist was trying to re-enter the country. CBS 4 notes that the background showed that the “national of El Salvador, was arrested by the Southampton Police Department in New York. He was subsequently convicted for Rape-3rd Degree and sentenced to six years’ probation.”

Not much else is given regarding the criminal, but one thing is for sure: these arrests, as well the myriad of other gang members and predators arrested this week as documented by Fox News, show that the border crisis impacts every single state in America.

Americans understand this, but it seems the Biden administration does not.

To that extent, Tennessee Republican Senator Marsh Blackburn recently penned an excellent op-ed titled, “Open border policies will bring chaos to Tennessee communities.”

Sen. Blackburn wrote, “The Biden administration’s deliberate inaction on this surge in illegal entry has turned every state into a border state. The Biden border policy is inept and an embarrassment to our nation.”

And she’s right.

What’s more, beyond allowing illegal aliens to enter the United States and move freely about the country, the Biden administration is actually shipping illegal aliens to states like Tennessee.

This, coupled with his disastrous repeal of Trump-era policies that secured the border, such as Remain in Mexico, has led to more than 180,000 encounters with illegal aliens at the border alone.

Sen. Blackburn’s op-ed concludes that

….the border crisis will escalate, and in the face of Biden’s woefully inept leadership, states like ours will be left picking up the pieces and the cost. As Biden continues down his path of impossible promises, I remain focused on my promise to protect Tennessee communities and put an end to this administration’s dangerous open-borders policies.

But it won’t just be Tennessee, it will every state across the nation — unless Biden changes his policies at the border.
