NPR (financed with your tax dollars) falsely claimed that Joe Rogan, the most popular podcaster on planet earth had “dismissed” Covid vaccines and was taking a bovine deworming drug as a cure. None of those things are even close to accurate.
In April, Rogan said that he thought, based on available evidence from no less authority than the CDC, that healthy and young people are not at high risk of serious complications. He’s right. For the media fond of conflating, he later clarified his statements by telling his audience that he is, and has always been pro-vaccine, but said:
“If you’re a healthy person, and you’re exercising all the time, and you’re young, and you’re eating well…like, I don’t think you need to worry about this.”
Snopes can fact check that all it wants, but CDC statistics bare that out. If you are both young and healthy, your chances of hospitalization or death are very remote. Not nonexistent, but very low. You may transmit it, but that, like Rogan said, is a “separate discussion”.
CNN called Rogan “controversial” when discussing his podcast, and repeated the canard that he “dismissed” Covid vaccines. Rogan was scheduled to take the Johnson&Johnson vaccine before it was halted by the FDA.
NPR should apologize. It won’t and why should it? Most of the media love to create mountains out of mud puddles on Twitter. When Rogan recovers and goes back to his podcast with antibodies and working T-cells, NPR’s falsehoods will be memory-holed.
