CODE RED COMICS: BREAKING NEWS: General Milley Saved the Republic...Just Ask Him.

Am I nuts? Sometimes I wonder. After reading an online article at CNN Politics, I feel like I’m Alice in Wonderland. Down the rabbit hole.

A political hit piece written by CNN Politics writer Veronica Stracqualursi is stunning, like seeing a talking Cheshire cat type of stunning. Stracqualursi went full Brian Stelter, pulling the trigger on “insurrection” 6 times to describe the Capitol riot. She used “riot” just once. DOJ has indicted over 300 people. It recently accepted a plea from a grandmother for her 13 minutes of wandering the Capitol while using her cellphone camera, dozens remain in jail, but not one defendant has been charged with “insurrection”.

The article describes Joint Chief of Staff, Gen. Mark Milley, as a savior of the republic. Milley might have single-handedly saved America. Democracy lives because Mark Milley was at the helm, guiding the righteous. He righted the ship of state in the face of hurricane Donald.

If you think I’m employing my usual hyperbolic language to create a silly image, Mark Milley is quoted as describing the moments after Biden took the oath of office as a ship in a stormy sea finally making port. “Thank God we landed the ship safely,” said Milley. While seated next to the Obamas, Milley (fully vaccinated and outdoor but still wearing a mask) turned to Michelle Obama and said: “No one has a bigger smile today than I do. You can’t see it under my mask but I do.” How utterly insufferable.

According to Stracqualursi’s reading of excerpts, General Milley was consumed with fears of a “coup.” After Biden was declared the winner, and well before January 6th. Milley was the bulwark against the brownshirts. Brownshirts? Why, yes, brownshirts. Trump rallies, according to Milley, could be “the modern American equivalent of ‘brownshirts in the streets.'” Milley wasn’t calling Trump a modern Hitler — no,  just MAGA-ites. For months he and his staff of the military’s top guys game-planned regarding what to do in the event of an attempted coup.

“They may try, but they’re not going to f**king succeed,” Milley told his deputies, according to the authors. “You can’t do this without the military. You can’t do this without the CIA and the FBI. We’re the guys with the guns.” Yeah, ok, guy. I’ve read Mitch Rapp novels too, but I knew that I was reading fiction.

Nonetheless, he and his generals were preparing for The Donald to bunker down like Tony Montana in Scarface. They feared The Donald would invoke the Insurrection Act. But apparently, Milley and his generals forgot about the January 6th certification date and forgot that a massive Trump rally was on the same day, and in the same city. Everyone who suspected a coup, just forgot to mark their calendars? Benjamin Disraeli cautioned ” I am prepared for the worst, and hope for the best.” If, in fact, Milley saw a secret coup signal behind every stupid Trump tweet he was at a minimum, negligent not to anticipate at least a bunch of dummies breaking into the Capitol. Milley is either a liar or incompetent. He’s no Disraeli — that much is certain.

It just doesn’t add up. Milley was game-planning for a  “Game of Coup.” He’s the guy with all “the guns” but missed the team bus? The game started but Milley forgot to strap on his helmet?

According to Milley, Trump was a loose cannon after the election and the general feared the worse. Pelosi feared more. She worried it was the end of the world. She feared Trump would use nuclear weapons. Seriously the second in line to the presidency apparently expressed fears that Trump would nuke something. I guess Pelosi thinks there’s a red button on the Resolute and The Donald could press it and vaporize San Francisco? But, Trump’s the nut. Nancy Pelosi has been in government since the invention of the wheel and is two heart-attacks away from the presidency and she thought Trump might vaporize millions for giggles? No president has the power to unilaterally nuke something on a  whim. It’s so absurd. But that’s Pelosi and she’s the Speaker of the House. Milley told her it can’t happen.

The book further describes a confrontation at the 2020 Army-Navy game, between Milley and Trump’s Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows. Milley wanted to know if Trump was about to ax the heads of the FBI or CIA. “You guys getting rid of (FBI)Wray or (CIA) Gina?” According to Milley, Meadows replied, “Don’t worry about it.”  Milley ominously replied: “Be careful.” The book’s authors described that as Milley’s warning to Trump. Neither Wray nor Haspel was fired, of course. It seems Milley is taking credit for this non-firing. Is he claiming he had the last word on who to fire in a civilian administration? Can someone tell me what business a general has in confronting a president’s chief of staff, before an election, and warning an administration about what personnel it could keep, or fire?

I was willing to give Milley some grace. No longer. He’s a political hack with a shiny star to wear: “I Saved The Republic From The Donald.”
