At this moment it’s unclear which is more astonishing: the speed with which the cause for which our soldiers spent 20 years dying has been destroyed (aided by either the feckless, simpering weakness of the Biden administration or intentional malfeasance based on TDS), or the speed with which our Secretary of State has been reduced to pleading with the Taliban to play nice. Witness this press release tweeted by Antony Blinken:
The United States joins the international community in affirming that Afghans and international citizens who wish to depart must be allowed to do so. Roads, airports, and border crossing must remain open, and calm must be maintained. https://t.co/lsNdsPETsW

“Affirming?” Really?
The Taliban is in firm control of Afghanistan. We are already seeing reports of Sharia law at its most brutal being implemented. The utter failure of the Biden administration on all fronts has resulted in the issuance of a figurative death warrant for any and all freedoms in Afghanistan, and a literal death warrant to any who do not subscribe to the medieval/Neanderthal fusion that is Sharia. We have abandoned those who supported us, run away with our tail between our legs, and have reduced the most powerful military known to man to begging untrained thugs to show mercy and civilized behavior when even a cursory glance reveals they know nothing of such things. So what is it are we affirming?
The United States pulled out of Afghanistan with no plan in place for safeguarding weaponry. The Biden administration refused to allow the servicing of American planes in Afghani hands that could have easily turned the tide of battle. Our ambassador to Afghanistan, wisely wishing to not become the next Christopher Stevens, has fled. We have no power, no control, and no say in anything that is happening or will be happening in the country where American soldiers spent two decades giving their lives for … for what, exactly?
It warrants mention that the United States is not alone in this pathetic charade, as the press release states:
The following is the text of a joint statement on Afghanistan initially released by the following: Albania, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Belgium, Burkina Faso, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Côte d’Ivoire, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Estonia, The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kosovo, Latvia, Liberia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta , Marshall Islands, Mauritania, Montenegro, Nauru, Netherlands, New Zealand, Niger, North Macedonia, Norway, Palau, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Sierra Leone, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Suriname, Sweden, Togo, Tonga, Uganda, United Kingdom, Ukraine, and Yemen.
Begin text:
Given the deteriorating security situation, we support, are working to secure, and call on all parties to respect and facilitate, the safe and orderly departure of foreign nationals and Afghans who wish to leave the country. Those in positions of power and authority across Afghanistan bear responsibility—and accountability—for the protection of human life and property, and for the immediate restoration of security and civil order.
Afghans and international citizens who wish to depart must be allowed to do so; roads, airports and border crossing must remain open, and calm must be maintained.
The Afghan people deserve to live in safety, security and dignity. We in the international community stand ready to assist them.
”Ready to assist them.” R-i-g-h-t.
The only thing capable of stopping the Taliban and variations thereof is directly assisting as many of its members as possible to experience glorious martyrdom first-hand. These are not rational people. These are not civilized people. These are not people capable of logic and reason, nor can they be reached with logic or reason. And yet here we have the Secretary of State trying just that. The same Secretary of State who Sunday morning implied that members of the Afghan National Army were somehow intellectually defective because they just didn’t understand what we taught them over 20 years.
I grieve for all who lost loved ones in Afghanistan or were wounded there. Your “leaders” have utterly failed you. It is up to us, the American people, to let you know how deeply we honor your sacrifice. As we do so, we pray for the people of Afghanistan that somehow, in some fashion, a rebellion against the Taliban, as opposed to those who sold out their own people and country, will arise that will do the job our government and military brass prevented our military personnel from doing: eradicate, once and for all, the Taliban scum from the face of the earth.
