Two US Army Blackhawk helicopters crashed Wednesday night during a routine training mission at Fort Campbell, Kentucky,
According to Fox News:
Two HH60 Blackhawks of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) were conducting a training exercise at approximately 10 p.m. when they crashed, Brendalyn Carpenter-Player, the director of the Fort Campbell Public Affairs, told Fox News Digital.
“The crewmembers were flying two HH60 Blackhawk helicopters during a routine training mission when the incident occurred. The status of the crew members are unknown at this time,” Carpenter-Player said. “The command is currently focused on caring for the servicemembers and their families.”
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear announced the crash on Twitter, saying that “fatalities are expected.”

WKDZ Radio in Cadiz, Kentucky reported that “several people” were killed in the crash.
Trigg County emergency personnel said the crash occurred between Bobby Light Road and Lancaster Road around 9:35 pm.
A U.S. Army soldier at the scene confirmed multiple deaths with Trigg County Coroner John Mark Vinson called to the scene.
Fort Campbell officials arrived on the scene about an hour after the crash to begin their investigation.
One witness, who lives about a half mile from the crash site, said they heard ‘a pop’ and ‘two booms’. Trigg County Jailer James Hughes also lives about a half mile away and heard what he believed to be a collision.
