BREAKING: Senate Votes to Confirm Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court

Late Monday the Senate voted to confirm Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court to fill the seat vacated when Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away on September 18, 2020.

No tiebreaker was needed by Vice President Mike Pence; when push came to shove, Mitt Romney and Lisa Murkowski did the right thing.

After a key procedural hurdle was cleared Sunday the Senate kicked off 30 hours of debate on the nomination, culminating in the Monday evening vote. Collins and Murkowski voted against going to debate, but Murkowski said that when it came to the final vote she would vote to confirm.

Amy Coney Barrett is expected to be sworn in by Chief Justice John Roberts this evening.

UPDATE: Fox News is reporting that Justice Clarence Thomas will deliver the oath of office to Amy Coney Barrett tonight.
