Just a week into the Trump administration, we are discovering the degrees to which the Biden-Harris administration was deliberately tearing at the fabric of our country and driving us over a cliff. A Free Beacon exclusive has uncovered the abject waste of American taxpayer dollars in a program to distribute "contraceptives and condoms" in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. The same Afghanistan where Biden botched the withdrawal of our troops, which caused the deaths of 13 servicemembers and left Americans and Afghani allies behind to rot, and where many of those Americans are still being held hostage. 

You might think aid to Ukraine is terrible, but this one is beyond stupid:  

The Biden administration quietly awarded $15 million in taxpayer funds to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan to help distribute "oral contraceptives and condoms," a non-public congressional funding notice reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon shows. In doing so, the administration acknowledged that "some coordination" with the Taliban would be "necessary for programmatic purposes."

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) earmarked the cash infusion, which has not been previously reported, last July. It transmitted the funds to Afghanistan in August, according to the funding notice and congressional sources familiar with the matter.

It is a wise move by President Donald Trump that he has put a 90-day moratorium on foreign aid. There will be a review and evaluation of all foreign assistance programs, but just from this one debacle alone, USAID should be completely divested of funding and disbanded. U.S. law expressly forbids any taxpayer funds going to terrorist organizations, and the Taliban is classified as such. According to the Free Beacon, the USAID funding notice referenced this, not by naming "the Taliban," but by alluding to coordination with "local, provincial, and national authorities but without directly benefiting them."

Sheer hubris and fraud.

The $15 million USAID and its partner groups spent to "procure contraceptives," including "oral contraceptives and condoms" in the Middle Eastern nation was part of a $100 million package meant to support "basic rights and freedoms" and empower "women and girls" living under Taliban rule. The terrorist organization, the USAID funding notice states, does not allow "young women and girls" to go to school or work in most professional fields.

"Although some coordination will be necessary for programmatic purposes, USAID and its partners are clear that there will be no direct assistance to the Taliban," the notice states. "Due diligence will continue to be exercised to ensure compliance with OFAC sanctions and statutory restrictions on assistance to the Taliban and that programs have robust safeguards in place to prevent Taliban interference or diversion."

How tone-deaf and arrogant could you be to talk about "basic rights and freedoms" for women and girls when under the Taliban, these same women and girls have no freedom to hold down a job or be educated? Under the Taliban, the women are slaves and the men are their masters. In what world was USAID expecting Taliban men to learn to use condoms? It's gobsmackingly stupid.

This $15 million was distributed mere months before Kamala Harris lost the election to Donald Trump and will never be recovered. To give a window to the uselessness of some of those Inspectors General Trump fired Friday night, the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) objected to the aid package not because it was a ridiculous and flagrant waste of American taxpayer dollars but because it did not adequately address "gender-based violence."

Yet, what has the legacy media and Democrats panties in a bunch? The cutting of funding? No, that Trump is abandoning "Afghan allies."

The Trump administration is canceling flights for Afghans who fought alongside Americans in uniform. We cannot abandon our Afghan allies.
