Rhode Island Congressman David Cicilline has a bone to pick with the accessory choices of his Republican colleagues.

Apparently, Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, New York Rep. George Santos, and Georgia Rep. Andrew Clyde have been sporting lapel pins in the shape of the Armalite Rifle 15, or AR-15, on the House floor. Cicilline and other Democrat Reps. tweeted these images out, expressing their outrage and inciting their gun-grabbing base. Like Pavlov’s dog, they are collectively wee-weeing and gnashing their teeth. Left wing zines like The New Civil Rights Movement, Alternet, and Raw Story have breathlessly posted stories.

At least three House Republicans this week began wearing pins in the shape of an assault weapon on their clothing. U.S. Rep. George Santos (R-NY), U.S. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), and U.S. Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA) were all caught on camera with the pins, leading some to express outrage.

U.S. Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-CA) was among the first to circulate images of the two Republicans wearing the pins.

“Where are these assault weapon pins coming from? Who is passing these out?” he asked.

Aaron Fritschner, the Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director for U.S. Rep. Don Beyer (D-VA), captured an image of Congressman Clyde wearing the pin on his tie.

Clutch the pearls! And bring out the smelling salts and fainting couches. It is actually Georgia Rep. Andrew Clyde who has been distributing them to his pro-2A colleagues. Clyde owns a gun store, and this item is part of the accessories sold there. Clyde doesn’t seem at all upset that he’s gotten his Democrat colleagues twisted.

I’m Congressman Andrew Clyde from Georgia’s 9th District. I hear that this little pin I’ve been giving out on the House Floor has been triggering some of my Democrat colleagues. Well, I give it out to remind people of the Second Amendment of the Constitution and how important it is in preserving our liberties. If I missed you on the House floor, please stop by my office in Cannon, I have plenty more to give out.

If you’re not in Clyde’s district, anyone can purchase similar lapel pins on Amazon Fashion, or on eBay for only $8.99. Capitalism, Second Amendment rights, and freedom of speech all rolled into one.

Merica!

The Democrats also find this especially egregious because the first week of February is National Gun Violence Survivors Week, where organizations like John Feinblatt’s Everytown and Shannon Watts’ Moms Demand Action supposedly “honor” victims of gun violence. Facts: it is just another opportunity for Democrats and gun grabbers to virtue signal and advocate for more gun control. Missouri Rep. Cori Bush, who is for gun control unless it’s her own private security, mentioned National Gun Violence Survivors Week in her tweet, as she pointed out this “shameful” behavior by the GOP members.

Raw Story wrote:

“Absolutely repulsive,” Duke University Professor of Global Health and Public Policy, Gavin Yamey said in response to the assault weapon pins. “We have mass shootings almost daily, and the Republicans are wearing assault weapon pins FFS.”

Gomez in particular seems to have amnesia that he represents California, a state with some of the most restrictive gun laws, and where two of the most recent shootings have occurred: Monterey Park and The Half Moon Bay killing sprees. Half Moon Bay was workplace violence. Perpetrator, Chunli Zhao has confessed to the killings, has a prior history of assault, and used a legally-owned handgun–not a rifle–to do his damage. But Democrats never let facts get in the way of their chosen narrative.

So, this not-so-subtle stance by Clyde and the other GOP reps is less disgusting and outrageous, and more ballsy and based. Everyone who chooses to sport the pin is giving the middle finger to Cicilline and every other Democrat politician demanding new gun control policies that will do absolutely nothing to prevent gun violence. Now, if they couple that with the action of blocking said legislation from passage, they’ll be doing the work for which we elected them.
