Well, we warned you that this would happen. Dither, posture, and promise it would be one thing, and then once pen went to paper, it turned out to be the same overpriced, pork-laden boondoggle that has nothing do with the name on the bill.

Business as usual from the Democrats, aided and abetted by 19 spineless Republicans, half of them not running for re-election to escape accountability.

Today’s passage of the 1.2 trillion Infrastructure bill is a win for Sen. Majority Leader Chuck Schemer Schumer and the Biden-Harris administration. A greater loss for the American people.

Today is a historic day. Senate Democrats and Republicans came together to pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal.

It will put people to work in good-paying jobs expanding broadband to every community, fixing lead pipes, building electric school buses, and more.

With a robust vote after weeks of fits and starts, the Senate approved a $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure plan on Tuesday, a r are coalition of Democrats and Republicans joining to overcome skeptics and deliver a cornerstone of President Joe Biden’s agenda.

The 69-30 tally provides momentum for this first phase of Biden’s “Build Back Better” priorities, now headed to the House. A sizable number of lawmakers showed they were willing to set aside partisan pressures, eager to send billions to their states for rebuilding roads, broadband internet, water pipes and the public works systems that underpin much of American life.

Infrastructure was once a mainstay of lawmaking, but the weeks-long slog to strike a compromise showed how hard it has become for Congress to tackle routine legislating, even on shared priorities.

“There’s been detours and everything else, but this will do a whole lot of good for America,” said Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Horse hockey. LA Sen. John Kennedy (R-Sagacious) went on Fox News’ the Ingraham Angle and called it a bill “chock full of stupid stuff.”

Some of that stupidity:

• $550 billion in new spending
• $110 billion set to be allocated toward roads, bridges and other projects. But this is less than a third of the bill.
• $65 billion toward broadband. Why? When did the Internet become infrastructure? Especially since the Biden administation has no clue how to protect that either.
• $66 billion on passenger and freight rail
• $55 billion for water infrastructure
• $39.2 billion for public transit
• $47.2 billion for resiliency purposes
• $7.5 billion for electrical vehicle infrastructure
• $21 billion to address pollution—think Green New Deal.

Per the New York Post, now the Senate moves on to the uglier $3.5 trillion infrastructure budget bill that the House passed.

GOP lawmakers are raising alarm over Democrats’ plans to move forward with a sweeping, $3.5 trillion additional plan to address “human infrastructure,” which is expected to include provisions related to immigration reform, climate change and the expansion of social programs using the reconciliation process to allow them to sidestep the 51-vote threshold in the upper chamber.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said the House would not take up the bipartisan bill without the passage of the budget that sets the guidelines for them to move on the $3.5 trillion bill.

Because that’s where the real poison lies. November 2022 cannot come soon enough.
