Everybody loves the quote, “Well-Behaved Women Seldom Make History” (Laurel Thatcher Ulrich), until those women who are not behaving “well” fail to fit a certain political agenda. That tracks much with the Left, but the Right is guilty of it, too.
Take Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-Brash). I wrote about her on the front page, and said she is one to watch, not because I support her, but because she reflects a streak of independence that sets her apart from her other Democrat colleagues. No doubt, she probably votes 99 percent with her party. But at pivotal times she shows some credible reasoning in her votes and actions, as opposed to the lockstep moves and flaming rhetoric of her Republican or Democrat cohorts in D.C.
In a Wall Street Journal profile, Sinema made this point,
“When you have a place that’s broken and not working, and many would say that’s the Senate today, I don’t think the solution is to erode the rules,” she said in an interview after two constituent events in Phoenix. “I think the solution is for senators to change their behavior and begin to work together, which is what the country wants us to do.”
It is refreshing to hear any elected politician, let alone a Democrat, speak strongly about 1) maintaining rules of decorum rather than killing them; 2) changing behavior to match those rules; and, 3) what the country needs as opposed to what the special interests want.
She also has a killer sense of humor:
Not tonight, Satan. https://t.co/8lNL4SXAPI

Which is part of why the progressive wing of her party (but I repeat myself) are not happy with her:
I'm sorry for the loss and my sympathies to his family, but whenever I see you or hear your name, all I see is this. I hope he made more than $15.00/hour. pic.twitter.com/ZLjRbXDhir

But Sinema reflects her choices not to be pigeonholed or “go along to get along” in her clothing, and her social media.

Obviously, conservatives don’t trust her. But she is definitely not well-behaved, and she is choosing to make history her way.
Then there is Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Ballsy), who, since before she was sworn in, has caused a stir.
“Even though I now work in one of the most liberal cities in America, I refuse to give up my rights — especially my Second Amendment rights,” Boebert, a Republican, says in the nearly three-minute video, tweeted on Sunday.
The video opens with the mom of four handily loading her Glock and slipping it into a waistband holster before walking through Washington, DC.
[…]
“As a 5-foot-tall, 100-pound woman, I choose to protect myself legally because I am my best security,” Boebert says, adding that she’ll be walking to her office every day.
“So, if you see me in DC, say hi. You’re safe with me.”
Progressives hate that she is staunchly 2A and insists on carrying her gun in Congress. Her colleague AOC has said that she feels “unsafe”, as has Speaker Nancy Pelosi. However, Boebert won her right to carry in D.C. and continues to hold the line on keeping the Constitutional right to bear arms for all Americans.
Boebert is also quick to call out Biden, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and most recently, California Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Batshit Crazy) for her violent rhetoric.
Maxine Waters would already be expelled if she was a Republican.

And speaking of “Auntie” Maxine and other women who don’t behave, Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Flamethrower) just did this:
I just went inside the Capitol to file my resolution to #ExpelMaxineWaters for her history of inciting violence and ordering Black Lives Matter terrorism against National Guardsmen in Minnesota. pic.twitter.com/V408AUl8ZT

And the response was, as per usual:
You are an effing sociopath and psychopath- resign biach. 🤬

You're nothing but a boil on the ass of history. The sooner you get lanced and oooze on back to whatever swamp you crawled out of the better.
The hatefulness you exude everywhere you go will come back for you. It will.

Like Boebert, from Day 1 Taylor Greene has come under fire, mostly for her present, and past, rhetoric. She was stripped of her committee assignments back in February because of Facebook posts that were written before she even ran for office. “Disturbing” language about Q-Anon, the Parkland shooting, and her filmed verbal attacks on Parkland survivor and gun control activist David Hogg.
I warned that the Democrats (and some Republicans) moving to strip her and make her an example would only increase her profile rather than diminish it.
And here we are. Taylor Greene is still not behaving, is still giving the smackdown to those she feels need it. Most notable is that Taylor Greene raked in 3.2 million in campaign fundraising in her first quarter as a freshman Congress critter. So love her or hate her, she is now a GOP cash cow, and they’ll think twice before throwing her under the bus again.

Recently, Taylor Greene attempted to launch an “America First” Caucus, but because of the word “Anglo-Saxon” and other language that the left could label as “racist” and “white supremacist“, the caucus was tabled.
Taylor Greene is no more well-behaved than Maxine Waters, and that ticks off many on the right.

NEW: Congressional leaders have always faced rebels in their ranks. But Reps. Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene are presenting top House Republicans with a test of how to handle a new breed of Trump-era, social media-savvy firebrands. #CHAnews https://t.co/Xvxb3W0mdd

Waters is one of my California representatives, and I can safely say Taylor Greene is more qualified than this professional grifter. While Taylor Greene does not behave, unlike Mad Maxine, she has not flat-out incited violence multiple times. Yet, Waters keeps getting passes for her decades-long craziness and corruption, while still heading the powerful Finance Committee.
From my colleague Brandon Morse:
Then there’s Maxine Waters, who is so guilty of encouraging violence and destruction that it’s a wonder why she hasn’t been censured at the very least. In truth, she should be thrown out of Congress for actively encouraging lawlessness and violence as she has.
First, Waters urged the left, if they find any Republicans hanging around, to create a crowd and intimidate them until they leave the area.
Now, this Saturday, she’s literally encouraging rioters to riot more if they don’t get the verdict they want when it comes to the Derek Chauvin trial.
If she were a Republican, Waters would have been on the front page of every news outlet being demonized. Social media would be on fire with trending phrases and subjects that would call for her immediate removal from Congress and immediate placement in prison. She’d be labeled everything from “traitor” to “insurrectionist” and used as an example of just how evil Republicans are from here to eternity.
Democrats have no right to ever accuse another Republican of doing evil.

The same can be said for the antics of AOC, Ayanna Pressley, Cori Bush, and on and on. When these women don’t act well-behaved, it is applauded. When Republican or centrist women push back, stand up, or take radical action, they are dangerous, and painted as violent seditionists.
Either we want these types of women to help define history, or we want poll-tested ones. Look at our current VP and see how well that works out.
