To paraphrase the A-Team’s Hannibal, “I love it when a narrative falls apart!”

In the case of the Boulder, Colorado King Sooper shooter, the narrative pushed by legacy media and on the Left is crumbling to dust.

First, there was the typical hot take that he was an angry-white man:

Look to the local news stations, as they are the ones who are breaking stories, rather than parroting press releases. Patrick Chalvire, the Social Media Producer at WSVN of South Florida tweeted:

It turns out the shooter is of Syrian descent. Cue the cries of Middle East terrorism and Islamophobia. Maybe he was radicalized? CNN spoke with the shooter’s older brother, Ali Al Aliwi Alissa, who had this to say:

Alissa was not very political or particularly religious, according to his brother, who said he never heard the young man threaten to use violence.

“The entire thing surprised me,” Ali Alissa said of the Monday’s shootings. “I never ever would have thought he would do such a thing. I never thought he would kill. I still can’t believe it. I am really sad for the lives that he wasted, and I feel sorry for all those families … We lost a brother even if he is the killer.”

So you have two narratives being tossed in the trash heap, but it hasn’t stopped the Left from doubling down.

Julie DiCaro, who, in case you hadn’t noticed, wrote a book, apparently has an imagination that only runs in one direction; so, I don’t think I’ll be reading any of her work. Now that DiCaro’s narrative has been debunked, she still refuses to delete this foolishness.

Carmine Sabia said it best.

The #Boulder gunman's first name is Ahmed. And all the people who were blaming white supremacy yesterday will suddenly say race of the shooter does not matter. Gotta protect and promote the narrative.

So the blue checkmarks are 0 for 2, and the tragedy of a 21-year old on the docket for 10 counts of first-degree murder is just not a suitable story. So, the next narrative out of the bag is that the shooter was a right-wing extremist.

My colleague Kyle Becker blew that one right out of the water. Before they shut down the shooter’s social media accounts, RedState was able to pull certain choice posts that showed he didn’t like Trump very much.

Mr. Andy Ngo was also on the case, with screenshots of posts showing Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa was extremist, but his extremism veered south. A lot of his posts parroted Left-wing and legacy media narratives.

Becker said something extremely prescient:

Contrary to the widespread media narrative about racism fueling mass shootings, this may be a plausible case of media bias and unsubstantiated accusations of racism fueling a mass shooting.

Bingo. Al Aliwi is spouting the narratives of CNN and MSNBC on his social media and feeding on it like a pig feeds on slop. This could very well have laid fuel to the fire in his head. With 10 people dead, it is apparent that fire raged out of control. These same blue checks and the Big Tech cretins were real quick to shut down Parler and blame it as the engine that fueled the January 6 unrest. Will they bother to see their culpability in this case?

Don’t hold your breath.

The Daily Beast did a more in-depth interview with Al Aliwi’s family. From their telling, it appears the shooter was simply not well.

Authorities on Tuesday identified the suspect in the shooting deaths of 10 people at a King Soopers grocery store in Boulder as Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, a 21-year-old with a history of violence whose brother said he was deeply disturbed.

Alissa, who is from Arvada, has been charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder for the mass shooting. He was taken into custody after being shot during apprehension.

Ali Aliwi Alissa, the suspect’s 34-year-old brother, told The Daily Beast that authorities searched his house all night after the shooting.

Alissa said his brother was “very anti-social” and paranoid, adding that, in high school, he would describe “being chased, someone is behind him, someone is looking for him.”

“When he was having lunch with my sister in a restaurant, he said, ‘People are in the parking lot, they are looking for me.’ She went out, and there was no one. We didn’t know what was going on in his head,” Alissa said, admitting that he believes his brother is mentally ill.

Mental illness is heartbreaking. I have family members who have suffered from it, and certain cultures and ethnicities (like mine) do not handle it very well. I have no idea whether this was the case with Al Alissa or his family, but the fact that he went untreated, coupled with feeding on media that did nothing but fuel his paranoia and delusion, is the reason we have the actions of yesterday. Legacy media hot takes be damned.

Mental illness and the efforts needed to get the proper treatment without stripping the individual of their dignity and agency, is a critical issue that requires careful investigation and research, and frankly, giving a damn. That certainly does not fit the legacy media’s agenda.

They would rather promote the monster they want under your bed, and get ratings and social media hits from it, than explore the reasons behind why the monster was created. If they spent as much energy on actual news investigation and following a story where it leads as they do on virtue-signaling and running propaganda, Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa might have made different choices. Maybe he would have sought help, rather than lashing out.

The brother of the shooter told CNN that the shooter had even taped up his computer to prevent being watched. He lives with the shooter but didn't know he had a gun. But the sister says she knew he had a gun and protective vests. So if he had gotten mental health help?
