DEI programs can turn people into paranoid, woke jerks, according to a brand new report from the National Contagion Research Institute (NCRI).
The report, titled “Instructing Animosity: How DEI Pedagogy Produces the Hostile Attribution Bias,” investigates the outcomes of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) trainings. Its findings indicate that the way these matters are being introduced do more to divide people rather than unite them.
The 13 authors note that DEI programs that emphasize anti-oppressive narratives can create a hostile attribution bias, which makes people more likely to see prejudice or bigotry in areas and in individuals were it does not exist.
Participants in the study were exposed to anti-racist content from authors Ibram X. Kendi and Robin DiAngelo, some of the most prominent race hustlers in the zeitgeist. Those who consumed their content were more likely to perceive higher levels of prejudice in a neutral scenario than those who read a control essay about corn production.
"Educational materials from some of the most well published and well known DEI scholars not only failed to positively enhance interracial attitudes, they provoked baseless suspicion and encouraged punitive attitudes."
Those exposed to anti-racist content “perceived more harm” to a neutral scenario in which an applicant who was rejected by a university.
"The hostile attribution bias revealed in NCRI’s study appears readily transmissible by the DEI pedagogy above, much of which is inserted into recommended or mandatory readings and trainings that are widely adopted at present."
This part of the study revealed that DEI material fostered baseless suspicion and tension between groups with participants assuming discrimination without any factual basis. "Participants exposed to the anti-racist rhetoric perceived more discrimination from the admissions officer (~21%) despite the complete absence of evidence of discrimination,” the report read.
Another experiment involved a scenario comparing the fairness of criminal trials for two individuals—one Muslim and the other non-Muslim. Participants who were exposed to anti-Islamophobia content deemed the Muslim defendant’s trial as less fair than the other even though both trials were identical in procedure and outcome.
"Participants in the anti-Islamophobia treatment group rated Ahmed’s trial as significantly less fair…than did those in the control group,” the report noted. These individuals also “perceived more microaggressions…and greater harm…inflicted on the Muslim individual compared to the control group exposed to neutral content.”
Interestingly, the report also linked DEI frameworks to authoritarian tendencies, noting that extreme anti-oppression rhetoric prompts people to adopt punitive attitudes and coercive control over others. Those exposed to anti-oppression content scored higher on measures of left-wing authoritarianism.
“Participants’ levels of left-wing authoritarianism predicted increased willingness to punish and higher hostile attributions,” the researchers found.
Indeed, those who consumed these narratives “were more likely to endorse demonization statements adapted from historical authoritarian figures.”
Even more scary is that those who looked at DEI teachings displayed heightened hostility and support for coercive measures, such as surveillance or harsh punishments for perceived ideological impurities. "Participants’ levels of left-wing authoritarianism predicted increased willingness to punish and higher hostile attributions,” the report indicated.
Of course, those who have read about DEI or seen its outcomes in action would not be surprised by these revelations. DEI is clearly a leftist authoritarian tool to amass influence and control over the rest of the populace. It is also a way to divide the public, which makes it easier to control.
Leftists have taken sincere and valid efforts to promote diversity in American institutions and transformed it into something far more sinister. We can see this in the debate over transgenderism – especially when it comes to sports.
The transgender issue played a critical role in the outcome of the 2024 election. Those pushing to force female athletes to compete against men typically do not do so through argument and persuasion. Instead, they use coercive means to compel people to go along with the ridiculous notion that men can become women and vice versa.
Those who disagree are not met with counterarguments and conversation. Instead, progressives have used the government to force the issue, not only with sports, but in government-run schools. In states like California and others, progressives seek to use the force of law to coerce parents to affirm their child’s chosen gender identity or face consequences, which is about as authoritarian as it gets.
This is why the fight against DEI is so important. If we fail to push back on this ideology, then it won’t be long before the left manages to dominate society through societal and governmental force.
