Brace yourself, dear reader. Rolling Stone magazine has published a bombshell report exposing newly-minted House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) for – not watching pornography. That’s right, folks. In this latest episode of “Let’s Get Outraged Over Silliness,” the alleged news outlet published a piece detailing how he and his son keep each other accountable for the material they view on the internet.

In an article published on Sunday, Rolling Stone highlighted a post on X, formerly Twitter, showing a video clip in which Johnson explains that he and his son use an app called Covenant Eyes to help the speaker and his son refrain from watching inappropriate material.

SPEAKER OF THE House Mike Johnson admitted that he and his son monitored each other’s porn intake in a resurfaced clip from 2022.

During a conversation on the “War on Technology” at Benton, Louisiana’s Cypress Baptist Church — unearthed by X user Receipt Maven last week — the Louisiana representative talked about how he installed “accountability software” called Covenant Eyes on his devices in order to abstain from internet porn and other unsavory websites.

“It scans all the activity on your phone, or your devices, your laptop, what have you; we do all of it,” Johnson told the panel about the app.

“It sends a report to your accountability partner. My accountability partner right now is Jack, my son. He’s 17. So he and I get a report about all the things that are on our phones, all of our devices, once a week. If anything objectionable comes up, your accountability partner gets an immediate notice. I’m proud to tell ya, my son has got a clean slate.”

After this earth-shattering revelation, which was the result of some hard-hitting journalism on Rolling Stone’s part, the world now knows that Johnson does not watch porn, which is a likely disappointment to folks on the left who would relish the opportunity to use something of this nature to smear him. Instead, they are forced to criticize him for not watching pornography, which makes about as much sense as putting water in an ink pen.

But let’s take another step back and look at this situation from another angle. Is it not a tad odd that a publication that has championed personal freedoms and individual choices is taking a shot at someone for making a personal choice about their internet habits? What exactly is the point here?

This is reminiscent of the furor over former Vice President Mike Pence’s rules to preserve his marriage. When it was revealed that he takes certain steps, such as refusing to dine alone with a woman who is not his wife and other idiosyncrasies, Democrats had an utter meltdown, looking for ways to use it against him. But, in reality, it’s easy to see why they hated the Pence rule and the lengths Johnson goes to in order to avoid watching pornography, isn’t it?

The Pence rule pretty much guaranteed that the left would never catch him in a sex scandal. In Johnson’s case, it is not likely that he will ever be exposed for watching smut online. These are the REAL reasons why the left became so incensed by these stories. At this point, if the left wants to damage Johnson, they should probably come up with something better than “Waaaah he doesn’t watch porn!”
