It’s safe to say that Chris Rock is no fan of Jussie Smollett. He “rocked” the crowd at last night’s 50th NAACP Image Awards Ceremony in Hollywood.

Rock’s comments drew laughter and wild applause from the mostly black audience.

They said ‘No Jussie Smollett jokes’ … What a waste of light skin. Do you know what I could do with that light skin? That curly hair? My career would be out of here! I’d be f%$&in’ runnin’ Hollywood.

What the hell was he thinking? You’re ‘Jessie’ from now on. You don’t get the ‘u’ no more. That ‘u’ was respect. You ain’t getting no respect from me!

Smollett, who skipped the event, had been nominated for the “Best Supporting Actor in a television drama” award, which thankfully went to someone else. “Smollett has been nominated for the award four years in a row and won in 2017.”

Smollett, as the world knows, faked an anti-black, anti-gay hate crime in January, in an attempt to raise his profile thinking the publicity would lead to an increase in income.

Americans were outraged last Tuesday after all 16 felony charges against him were abruptly dropped by Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx and his record was wiped clean.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel called it a “whitewash of justice” and has sent a $130,000 bill to Smollett to reimburse the city for the time police personnel spent on the bogus case. Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said that the Chicago Police Department stands by their charges.

The embattled actor gave a brief statement to the press after he was cleared claiming he had been “truthful and consistent on every single level since day one.” Smollett said this has been the worst time of his life, however, he is “a man of faith.”

He concluded by saying, “Now I’d like nothing more than to just get back to work and move on with my life. But make no mistake, I will always continue to fight for the justice, equality, and betterment of marginalized people everywhere.”

It was truly an Oscar-worthy performance.

Prior to last night’s Awards ceremony, the event’s host, “Black-ish” actor Anthony Anderson, said “in light of the charges against Smollett being dropped, he hopes the “Empire” actor will win for his work on the show.”
