Mel Gibson and Joe Rogan Savage Gavin Newsom and Democrats Over Wildfires

Acting legend Mel Gibson met up with podcasting legend Joe Rogan, and the two had what might be the most interesting conversation you could watch to kick off 2025. They discussed many things, including the Shroud of Turin and "Passion of the Christ 2," but naturally with the wildfires raging through California in and around the Los Angeles area, the conversation turned to politics.

Rogan brought up that it was "Crazy that they spent $24 billion last year on the homeless, and what did they spend on preventing these wildfires?"

Both men knew exactly how much they spent on it. Zero. Rogan is a former California resident who moved to Texas after being sick and tired of California's mismanagement and out-of-control cost of living. Gibson, who has a Malibu home, recently lost it thanks to the wildfires, according to reports just released on Friday morning from the New York Post.

"In 2019, Newsom said he would take care of the forest. He didn't do anything," Gibson added.

"And then, on top of that, they cut the water off," Rogan said.

Gibson knew where the money was going, though.

"All our tax dollars probably went to Gavin's hair gel," he joked. "I don't know. It's sad, but the place is just on fire."

"The whole state is so poorly managed," said Rogan, "and it's so frustrating and confusing, and then he gets on TV and pretends everything is great."

Rogan noted that Newsom lies to people through the tube all the time, claiming that California has the best economy and that everything is going smoothly, despite the clear, demonstrable evidence that this isn't the case at all.

"You're out of your f***ing mind, dude," Rogan said of Newsom. "You've ruined the state. Personally ruined it."

"Well, it's the same team that was up in San Francisco, and they came down to LA and are doing what they did in San Francisco. San Francisco is apocalyptic now," Gibson noted.

Gibson is correct. San Francisco is so poorly managed and run that homelessness, drug abuse, and theft are off the charts. The city is so filthy that there are apps that allow you to see where poop has been spotted on the sidewalks in order to help you avoid, not just stepping in something filthy, but possibly avoiding a biohazard that could contain diseases.

Moreover, businesses have been pulling out of San Francisco, including major corporations and even real estate businesses are telling clients they don't recommend moving there

Gibson and Rogan commiserated on the speed at which society crumbles under that kind of leadership.

"I read a book once by Jared Diamond called "Collapse," said Gibson. "It says all the things you need for a civilization to cave in and collapse — and a lot of the things are present, the earmarks, the precursors to the collapse, they're present in our time. So it's an interesting observation."

It's pretty clear that California is a perfect example of what not to do. The state is absolutely gorgeous, and I would consider it the crown jewel of America, however it's so poorly mismanaged and the corruption runs so deep that the Democrats in charge are literally letting paradise burn to the ground and then blaming everyone but themselves.

As I wrote on Thursday, this is either going to be a teachable moment for many Californians, or they won't learn a thing and California will collapse.
