Yeah, it's the economy, stupid, but Donald Trump didn't just win the popular vote because the Democrats drove the economy into the dirt. They elected him because D.C. has become so disconnected from the people that it represents interests that are diametrically opposed to ours.
Trump's mandate wasn't just to fix our financial situation and boost prosperity, it was to rein in the Democrats.
During the last eight years, there have been a lot of attacks on Trump, and much of these have taken center stage in the public awareness thanks to the media pounding its chest with every attack thanks to their unyielding belief that they were on the right side of history for doing so.
But as Joe Biden took office, those attacks went into overdrive, and as they were attacking Trump, they were attacking us in a myriad of ways. Parents who attempted to protect their children from the left's agenda were treated like terrorists as the DOJ and FBI began moving against them. Hunter Biden's laptop, which contained an inordinate amount of information relating to the crime of the Biden family, was dismissed as "Russian propaganda" by our intelligence agencies. The pandemic saw the administration attempt to find ways to force unproven vaccines on the people, even threatening their jobs to do so.
Moreover, Democrats couldn't help but defend these institutions at every turn. They're still doing it. As I write this, the Democrats are attempting to cook up whatever scandal they can to avert the people Trump is appointing, who are just as motivated as we all are to weaken the system.
They used weak excuses to defend this system as they attacked you, and as they attacked you, they attacked Trump and the people related to him. The same people who were destroying your livelihoods and forcing themselves on you were signaling they were afraid of this man.
But the people didn't just see themselves in Trump, we saw him as a tool for our will. Our weapon with which to strike back after the constant attacks against us. Like us, Trump had the motivation to be the one to dismantle or rob power from the system that had been abusing us.
Democrats blinded themselves by making this all about Trump in their minds, but this isn't about him. It's definitely not about bigotry, or homophobia, or transphobia. It's not about ignorance and hate. This upcoming Trump administration is a clear and undeniable signal that this cannot happen anymore.
Trump made it very clear what he intends to do. He's going to go in and disassemble, disempower, and discard many corrupt and wasteful things in our government, and the people liked what they heard. That's why so many people elected him.
The Democrat Party, as the defenders and utilizers of these corrupt and bloated institutions, is the entity that the people want reined in. They want these weapons taken out of their hands and the country made safe from them. They want to make it so the Democrats can't abuse us like that anymore.
Mollie Hemingway said something very interesting on Fox News in relation to this.
"I want to say seeking justice or accountability is not necessarily retribution … A lot of bad things have been done in this country, and it has a lot to do with why Donald Trump was elected. And again, wanting people to be held accountable is not retribution so much as justice,” she said.
She's not wrong, but I would say there is an element of retribution here. I think Trump's earned it. I think we've earned it.
But the difference between real justice and the Democrat version of "justice" is exactly as Hemingway described. We were wrong, and the people deserve not just answers and a fix to the problem but to make it clear to anyone who thinks about doing this in the future that, eventually, things will come crashing down around them.
Democrats with two brain cells to rub together should probably look at this moment and realize that they're the bad guys, and have been all along. They were blinded by hate and hubris to the point where they were missing things right in front of their faces.
If they can't realize that and fail to fix things, then the Democrat Party will sink into irrelevancy and fade away.
