If AP Thinks Calling Out Claudine Gay's Plagiarism Is Wrong, They Should Check Their Own Rulebook

Peanut butter and jelly. Cookies and milk. Weebs and anime. Hypocrisy and corporate media.

Some things just go hand-in-hand as if made for each other. The corporate media's die-hard loyalty to the leftist cause takes it far out of the realm of objectivity and makes them willing propagandists. That much is clear, and it's clear despite the media constantly attempting to sell the idea that they're impartial.

As Bonchie reported earlier today, the Associated Press made the bombastic move of attempting to pass off the forced resignation of ex-Harvard President Claudine Gay as a "Republican's pounce" moment, but in one of the dumbest and most ridiculous ways ever seen since the birth of journalism.

Their headline read "Harvard president's resignation highlights new conservative weapon against colleges: plagiarism."

No, that's not a joke.

According to the AP, Gay's plagiarism was hardly a sin, but calling Gay out for ten counts of academic theft and breaking Harvard's rules...well that's a step too far. Bonchie put it well:

You see, it wasn't that Gay broke long-standing academic rules, both technically and ethically. It was that those dastardly conservatives weaponized plagiarism against her by forcing her to commit gross acts of plagiarism decades ago. How did they do that? I have no idea. Perhaps a time machine was involved, but rest assured, the problem isn't that Gay did what she did, it's that conservatives dared to notice.

When it comes to any Democrat, the story is never the story. It's also the conservative response to the story that makes headlines, so much so that "Republicans pounce" has become a meme at this point. The Associated Press either doesn't realize how ridiculous it looks, or it doesn't care.

But while the media is obviously a joke, the joke that is AP gets even funnier. Someone went through AP's own rulebook and found their rules on plagiarism.

Behold! Hilarious hypocrisy.

"An AP staffer who reports and writes a story must use original content, language and phrasing." says the AP rulebook. "We do not plagiarize, meaning that we do not take the work of others and pass it off as our own."

Ah, so plagiarism is bad according to the AP.

From what I can gather, plagiarism is only wrong under the right circumstances. If the wrong people plagiarize someone then that's bad and deserves punishment, but if the President of Harvard, a black woman, plagiarizes ten different times...well that's okay by the laws of the gods of DEI, I guess.

In any case, this is your daily reminder that the corporate media is a joke, leftist extremists are a joke, and you should never take any of them seriously. They're not your friend, they're not a public service, but they are a propaganda factory that has no interest in serving you.

Standing tall among this lunacy, letting their hypocrisy shine brightly, is the Associated Press.

I hope they get plenty of backpats at their next elitist meeting.
