The Department of Defense (DoD) is the government institution responsible for making sure the American people are safe and secure from threats both foreign and domestic. With over 2.8 million people under its employ, including active-duty service members of the military, it is the largest employer in the world.
But under the Biden administration, its grand purpose and armies worth of members have been watered down so that priorities now look like those cooked up by activists and university professors. This isn’t an exaggeration. This prioritization of woke nonsense is something said directly by the DoD itself.
A tweet by the DoD shows a short video panning over a lecture hall where many different people can be seen watching four speakers on a stage. It’s unclear what’s being discussed, by the DoD’s Twitter account focuses instead on the diversity of the crowd in the video.
“Diversity is a strategic imperative critical to mission readiness and accomplishment,” tweeted the DoD. “We were on site for the 2023 inaugural [DoD Office for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion] Summit as DEIA experts led forums to advance the DEIA and DoD mission — because our people matter.”

When one thinks of a military speaking about diversity being a “strategic imperative,” the idea of a variety of military weapons and specialties comes to mind. One needs a diversity of sea-going warships, various types of combat-ready air vehicles, and specialists on the ground from communications experts to snipers.
But that’s not what the Biden Administration’s DoD means by diversity is a strategic imperative. What it means is that the most critical thing in America’s defense is that our military features different people from different backgrounds, sexualities, identities, and genders. According to Biden’s DoD, our military can only perform optimally if the person conducting a drone strike is a black transgender atheist with a disability.
It’s a ridiculous notion that only the radical left would consider true. Whether the person pulling a trigger is a white man from rural Texas or the aforementioned disabled black transgender atheist is at the bottom of the barrel in terms of importance. The willingness to serve for the sake of the nation and its people, adherence to the Constitution of the United States, and of course the ability to pull the trigger are far more important than a person’s identity.
But ultimately, its chief “strategic imperative” isn’t university values. As Twitter/Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted in reply, the DoD’s “strategic imperative” is simple.
Your strategic imperative is defending the United States

Musk is correct. It’s as if the current crop of leaders in the United States are taking their eyes off the ball in order to focus on the wrong scoreboard. Diversity of identity is the least of worries for an organization whose primary export is death. Everything else other than the efficacy of that one ultimate goal is a distraction if not a detriment.
The better the DoD is at being able to be dangerous to the point of the nation’s enemies not wanting to risk its wrath, the safer we are as a nation. If I were a rival nation and I saw that my enemies were now focused on something strategically detrimental to it, such as a focus on the denial of biology and the enforcement of standards that will actively weaken it, I would start to get braver and way more daring.
The Biden administration has to go.
