The world is not the black-and-white place we oftentimes view it as. It would be much easier if it was. One could be on one team, the next on another, and from these tribes, we could perfectly understand motivations, intentions, and goals.
But a human is far more complex than a singular team. If you were to line up 100 people within the Republican Party and ask how the Republican Party should be run, you’d get 100 different answers. While they’re united by an overarching belief, how people get to the end game of that belief runs the gambit.
Over the course of my time working in politics and culture, I’m often reminded that you could probably line up 50 Democrats and 50 Republicans and begin asking questions about various topics without knowing who is on what side. By the time you were done asking all 100 people about what they thought about these subjects, you’d only be able to sus out the political leanings of a handful of them.
This is because the truth about politics is that politics is very complicated and that’s because politics is an amalgamation of ideas put forward by individuals. A Democrat and Republican might very well agree on most things but differ on just a handful, or they may agree on an end result but just have different ideas on how to achieve that goal.
You might be wondering if I’m suggesting we stop looking at Democrats as the enemy. The answer is no…and yes, but only to a point.
From the 2020 election onward, an interesting development has occurred. I’d say it started well before that, likely at some point in the Obama administration’s time in power, but it didn’t really occur in earnest until the Biden administration.
At this point, it’s pretty clear that the Democrat Party is a wildly different beast than what it looked like a few decades ago. It’s shifted so far to the left since the Obama era that it became fundamentally un-American. If the politicians within it aren’t wholly corrupt then they’re radicalized socialists or communists. They value open borders and don’t seem to be bothered by high crime rates. They want your kids, not just to brainwash them into believing that their radicalism is normal, but for even more sinister purposes. They want grooming and pedophilia to be something our society embraces.
And that’s just a few things that the Democrat Party has embraced that now make them radical.
Funny enough, it’s these very things that are causing Democrat voters to stop being Democrats. In June, we reported that since 2020, over 1 million people had swapped from D to R, and judging by the increasing poll shifts toward Republican candidates, even in blue areas, that rise in Republicans hasn’t stabilized.

This tells us quite a bit about the Democrat Party, but more than that, it tells us more about each other.
It tells us that the media has done a very good job of making it seem like Democrats and Republicans are diametrically opposed with no hope of reconciliation. To be sure, you see this extreme happening on social media all the time. The “Libs of TikTok” Twitter account is a zoo filled to the brim with radical leftists, but the Democrat next door might very well be scoffing at the idiot on their phone screen for the same reason you are.
The bottom line is that Democrats are discovering that their enemy isn’t the Republicans, it’s the extremists that have infiltrated their party and have begun making it into a staging ground for radicalism. They feel alienated and offended. They wonder where, not just their party, but their country is going. They want to bring it back.
And the enemy of your enemy is your friend.
