On Saturday, California Rep. Maxine Waters made it clear that if Derek Chauvin, the police officer on trial for George Floyd’s death, isn’t convicted of first-degree murder, then rioters should make things worse for America. It was a moment that really demonstrated the naked hypocrisy and divisiveness of the Democrat Party.

And now the White House is making it worse by doing its best to sidestep it.

According to Fox News, Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked about whether or not President Joe Biden agreed with it. In response, Psaki danced around the answer.

“His view is … that exercising First Amendment rights and protesting injustice is the most American thing that anyone can do,” Psaki said. “But as he also always says, protests must be peaceful, that’s what he continues to call for and what he continues to believe is the right way to approach responding.”

It’s not a question that should be that difficult to answer directly, but for some reason, “we condemn Maxine Waters’ remarks and will not tolerate destruction and violence in the streets” is something Democrats are unwilling to say. It’s a cop-out to simply say protests must be peaceful, specifically for Democrats, as it’s their side that is not only conducting the riots and actively encouraging them, it’s the Democrats who are constantly looking the other way when they do happen.

In fact, when Antifa conducted riots in the Capitol recently, Democrats suddenly lost their enthusiasm for investigations and imprisonments.

It’s looking increasingly like Chauvin might not be convicted of first-degree murder and when he’s not, riots may likely begin. When destruction, violence, and even death inevitably happens, Democrats will hold society responsible, not themselves. They especially won’t hold Maxine Waters accountable for her actions. They surely didn’t with Ayanna Pressley when she encouraged more rioting.

When the Capitol riot happened, Republicans in office were quick to denounce it. All of them. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz even called for the imprisonment of anyone who conducted the raid.

However, Democrats all the way up to the White House make it clear that there is no talk of cracking down or legal punishments, just “hey guys, let’s be peaceful,” knowing full well that peace was never an option for these rioters. They definitely won’t take any action against their own when they actively encourage violence and destruction while they lose their ever-loving minds on people like Ted Cruz just because he happened to give an impassioned speech to a peaceful crowd that didn’t encourage them to riot in the least.

This is Democrat hypocrisy at its worst.
