The Washington Post was attempting to pull a fast one by “fact-checking” Texas Senator Ted Cruz’s claim that President Joe Biden killed thousands of jobs, but only ended up making Biden look like the villain instead.
As left-leaning fact-checkers will do, the Washington Post attempted to play with words in order to take issue with Cruz’s point about Biden’s termination of thousands of jobs by discontinuing the Keystone XL Pipeline project. The idea was to nitpick Cruz not saying the jobs were “temporary” because they were construction jobs and therefore not permanent.
“Cruz cited a real estimate of approximately 11,000 jobs, but he left out that they were all temporary,” the Post said. “In the same report, the State Department said the Keystone XL pipeline, if built, would require only 35 to 50 permanent positions.”
WaPo then awarded Cruz two Pinocchios.
Cruz dismissed the attempt to nail him and focused on the real issue that the Washington Post was purposefully trying to hide in plain sight in order to protect Biden.
“WaPo confirms that YES, on his 1st day in office, Joe Biden destroyed 11,000 jobs (including 8,000 union jobs). But, it says, they’re construction jobs so are only temporary,” tweeted Cruz. “ALL construction jobs are temporary. Presidents still shouldn’t destroy them.”

The Washington Post is, like Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, awfully dismissive of the termination of thousands of American jobs, considering them a temporary setback. However, as recently terminated Keystone Pipeline worker Neal Crabtree noted, he and his fellow laid-off workers don’t consider it a “job” but a career.
“You spend a lifetime fine-tuning your skills and if you go start another job you’re starting at the bottom,” said Crabtree. “I doubt that these politicians would like it if someone told them to go start over and find a different job.”

The fact-check on Cruz was clearly an attempt to distract from the major issues Biden brought down with his cancellation of the pipeline’s construction but no matter which way you look at it, Biden still killed off 11,000 jobs with a non-thinking, politically-influenced stroke of his pen.
The number of people going home unemployed because of Democrats can’t be “fact-checked” away.
