Earlier today I wrote about the fact that in the course of fighting the giant blaze currently ravaging the entire country, Australia has arrested 183 arsonists responsible for starting the fires or keeping the fires going.

The conclusion that’s easily reachable here is that when it comes to the wildfires, it’s not climate change that’s the culprit, it’s the crimes of those willing to start fires. While it is true that 2019 was the dryest year in Australia on record, that doesn’t mean that it’s the fault of man-made climate change. Droughts aren’t exactly an uncommon occurrence, and scientists predict a return to normalcy next month.
It’s horrible that Australia is going through such a hard time. It’s even more horrible that people are trying to use the wildfires to promote their political agenda. Standard fare, but it’s still horrible.
Sunday’s Golden Globes were rife with environmental grandstanding, with celebrities left and right talking about how Australia is proof that climate change is real and that something must be done.
Russel Crowe didn’t show up to the Golden Globes but still left a message to be read by Jennifer Aniston. The message made it clear that the fires were “climate change based” and that science must be observed in order to fight it.
“The tragedy unfolding in Australia is climate change based. We need to act based on science, move our global workforce to renewable energy, and respect our planet for the unique and amazing place it is. That way, we all have a future,” said Aniston.

Joaquin Phoenix, though practicing a touch of self-awareness that many other celebrities lack, also promised to strive to do better and encouraged everyone else to do the same.
“It’s great to vote, but sometimes we have to take that responsibility on ourselves and make changes and sacrifices in our own lives and hope that we can do that. We don’t have to take private jets to Palm Springs for the awards. I’ll try to do better, and I hope you will too.”

Australian-born actress Cate Blanchett, standing in a dress that looked like something straight of The Hunger Games also made comments, thanking the volunteer firefighters for fighting this “climate disaster” and adding that when one country is fighting a climate disaster, they all are.

It shouldn’t strike anyone as strange that the word “climate” was continuously popping up throughout these mentions of wildfire. The repetition of the word on mainstream platforms really helps to define the conversation we have in their favor and eliminates the idea that this could be anything else but a natural disaster caused by the recklessness of mankind.
But we know the truth. While it’s true that Australia was having abnormally dry weather, abnormal weather conditions are pretty common around the globe. It’s a common phenomenon for weird weather to occur. Droughts are no exception. We get them in the United States quite a bit, and the Democrats try to use them to push the climate change message all the time as well.
For instance, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez attempted to blame the recent California wildfires on climate change, but in truth, it was a mixture of the dry conditions of the state and improper government usage of the land.

It’s also hard to overlook 183 arsonists taking advantage of these conditions in order to commit crimes. The media will do its best, and here is the biggest problem.
In the grand scheme of things, people can hardly prove that man-made climate change is a real thing, at least on the scale that the alarmists like to say it will. The “we’re going to die in 12 years” crowd doesn’t have the science to back up their claims, and that’s according to actual scientists.

What is happening is clearly a rash of crimes that are tearing up Australia. Why isn’t that getting the focus?
If 183 people are arrested for arson, especially in this specific case, then this is something Australia needs to focus on immediately. However, the mainstream seems to want to lead our attention toward something it can’t prove, which coincidentally coincides with a political position of a political party they support.
In short, the left is making a power play while Australia burns.
