CNN's Prime Time Ratings Have Now Tanked to a Record Low for the Year

Ever since Trump was cleared of collusion with the Russians and/or obstruction of justice, CNN hasn’t exactly had the best time. With few reasons for people to tune in anymore, the leftist cable news network has found itself in something like quicksand. The more it struggles the more it sinks.

According to the Daily Caller, CNN has now hit a record low for the year, even with presidential town halls for Democrats being featured on the network:

From April 8-12, the network only averaged an audience of 690,000 people and 180,000 in the key 25-54 age demographic. Their coverage last week included three presidential town halls with New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, Washington Gov. Jay Inslee and Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro.

Gillibrand’s town hall only had 507,000 viewers, compared to Inslee’s 549,000 and Castro’s 654,000.

Comparatively, last week, MSNBC’s prime time lineup averaged 1,600,000 viewers with 249,000 in the key demo. Fox News managed to beat CNN and MSNBC combined, with a total viewership of 2,438,000 and 394,000 in the age range.

Not only does this not speak well for the network, it doesn’t speak well for many Democrats either, as the public has seemingly lost interest in what many of the candidates have to say. This may be due to the fact that so many have entered the race that it’s hard to keep up with who is who and who believes what.

The same has happened to MSNBC, though that network hasn’t taken as drastic a hit as CNN. It currently sits at an average of 1.6 million viewers in its prime time lineup. Fox News has done very well, however, to the point where MSNBC and CNN can’t equal out to the ratings Fox News is garnering combined with 2,438,000.
