Leftist Media Members BEG Pelosi to Ditch Idea of Being the Democrat's Leader After Midterms

The once and — hopefully not — future Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi (D-Crazytown) can’t wait to have the gavel back in her hand after what she hopes will be a blue heavy midterm elections, but there are some on the left who would rather she stay as far from the Speaker’s chair as possible.

This isn’t necessarily a new story. Democrats in Washington have been uneasy about Pelosi for some time now, and going so far as to openly express their doubts and misgivings. Back in February, I wrote that Democrats were so ready to put Pelosi in the rear-view due to shows of weakness and ineptitude that she was beginning to look a lot like a figurative Julius Caesar in the third act.

But now it’s not just “et tu Democrats” in office, the knives are coming from parts of the media. Take, for instance, this article from the Sacramento Bee’s Editorial Board titled “Dear Nancy Pelosi: It’s not about you, it’s about your party and country. Forget being speaker.

The article pulls no punches, and begins with an immediate one-two punch.

“The Republican Party is now clearly the party of Donald Trump,” wrote the Bee’s editorial board. “The Democratic Party cannot be seen as the party of Nancy Pelosi and win in November.”

The article continues laying it out plainly:

It’s getting close to crunch time, and the San Francisco Democrat must put her party and her country ahead of her personal ambition and declare that she will not seek the speakership again.

This is much bigger than her. To retake control of the House, Democrats need to gain at least 23 seats in November. That’s no easy task. And it’s even more difficult now that Pelosi’s future has become a distracting campaign issue for Democrats in key swing districts, where they need moderate and even Republican votes to win.

The Bee’s editorial board added that Pelosi is not only dead weight due to personal ambitions, but she’s also dividing the party by playing a victim. A perfect example being her attack on MSNBC when she called them a “jag” against her.

But Democrats do have every reason to be wary of Pelosi. After the election of Trump, the hard-left California Democrat seems to have taken a trip straight into crazy territory.

Pelosi has been railing against the GOP’s tax cuts, calling them “crumbs.” This is a talking point that some Democrats have openly expressed uneasiness about due to the fact that it makes her and her party seem like the out of touch elitists they are. She’s attempted to convince America that the excellent job reports aren’t so great, and that Americans having more access to jobs is a bad thing. She’s also promised to raise taxes, which in America is not the greatest promise to make, which is why Democrats tend to coat that kind of verbiage in flowery language, or don’t say anything about it at all before they do it.

She’s calling illegal immigrants her “constituency,” and despite her pandering, she still gets chased out of her own press conferences by social justice protesters.

It also doesn’t help that her sour face during Trump’s SOTU address turned her into a negative meme.

It’s safe to say that Pelosi is damaged goods, and that she’s a turn off to a good majority of the nation. The Republicans even understand this, with Trump himself going so far as calling her his “secret weapon.”

Like Hillary before her, it seems the Democrats would rather she just fade into the background where she can’t really hurt anybody anymore.
