A mix of some fun and some seriousness for this episode. First, the serious. CBS News kicked off days of media dysphoria when it detailed how some immigrants attempting to enter Texas drowned as a result of Greg Abbott having his Texas Military Department blocking federal Border Patrol agents from entering an area to rescue the mother and two children. Despite contradictory reports, the press ran with this gross accusation, and it has blown up in their faces.
Next, we have NBC News delivering some dire information: King Kong is dead! Sort of. A giant ape species died off hundreds of thousands of years ago, and climate change was the cause. Ummm…guys…?? Also, we have the New York Times not only defying the consensus on climate change but defying their own reports – within a matter of days.
Finally, we get a farce of a report that in Florida, they are taking the (non)banning of books to a new level of hysteria – schools are barring the dictionary in schools! (We’ll show you this is also garbage.) And to wrap it up, Jimmy Kimmel also latches onto this media lie and uses it to slam Ron DeSantis with a lame joke about his sex life. That Kimmel just spent weeks whining about jokes made about his sex life makes this even more pathetic.
Now, crack one open and savor some mainstream media mayhem and malpractice.
