The carnage after the attack on Israel by Hamas insurgents has led to remarkable distemper in the press. The support for the Palestinians has been bad enough, but there is also the concerted effort by numerous news outlets to refrain from calling the attackers “terrorists,” with most opting for “militants.” (Don’t want to offend those enacting barbaric actions, after all.)
This position by the press has not been effective. Public support for Israel has grown, and one network in particular has suffered in the ratings as a result of the narratives.
Also, CNN has acquired a new boss, but the signs are that the same old blueprint may be followed. Then, because this time of year many people are enjoying something, the Washington Post comes out to explain to us why pumpkin spice is a hateful, racist food item.
