Who could have possibly seen this coming?
After an Alaskan Airlines 737 Max 9 jet had a door blow out in mid-flight, questions began to arise about the company's safety record and culture. What was the Seattle-based carrier so focused on that it would lead to a severe maintenance issue being deferred multiple times until it culminated in an in-flight emergency? Was safety their top priority or was it something else?
Well, we've got an answer to that question. Shocking absolutely no one, Alaska Airlines is laughably woke.
In case you’re wondering what @Alaskaair has been focusing on, it’s diversity & inclusion, making their planes gay, and having drag queen flight attendants.

If you’re on an Alaska plane, just pray their diversity hires don’t screw up and they’re putting this same energy into… pic.twitter.com/xg41yL9UYQ
Apparently, Alaskan Airlines is the gayest air carrier in existence. Not only do they hold LGBT events where people in rainbow outfits gyrate wildly while shouting "gay" over and over, but they even have drag queens serving as flight attendants on "pride flights." They also emblazon their aircraft with pride symbology.
Let me ask you an honest question. If that video was a parody, would you be able to tell the difference? Or would you assume it was some comedian making fun of the absurdities of the LGBT movement when coupled with an airline's corporate structure? You would think it was a parody, right?
This is what the DEI movement has produced. Instead of simply promoting an equal work environment based on merit that would benefit everyone, it has given us insane displays like the ones above. If I showed up in an "I'm straight" shirt, stripped down to my underwear, and started gyrating while shouting "straight, straight, straight," would Alaskan Airlines fire me? Or would they respect that I'm just showing "pride" in my sexuality? I think we all know the answer to that. DEI doesn't produce equality. It simply hands certain demographics special privileges that they get to rub in our faces, but hopefully not literally.
Is this really what a major airline should be spending its effort on? Holding "pride flights" and LGBT events while their planes fall apart? I'd suggest not, and I'll suggest Alaska Airlines is the poster child for DEI excess. I understand it's based in Seattle, one of the most liberal cities in America, but do those in charge not see how harmful all this is to their brand? Perhaps they don't care because, to this point, being obsessed with DEI hasn't been much of a PR drag. That may be changing in the near future, though. It certainly should.
